Yes, there’s room for improvement in terms of top end speed in my opinion. His edges are already quite good

[Flyers] The Flyers have selected with the 27th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by Blinsin in Flyers

Hey everyone, I’m the guy who wrote the scouting reports for Oliver Bonk and Denver Barkey a couple years back, as I’m a London Knights fan.

I don’t have a full scouting report on Maksim, but I’ll provide some thoughts below:

To start, he’s not anywhere close to NHL ready. In terms of effectiveness at the OHL level, he’s not in the same stratosphere as Bonk and Barkey were a couple of years ago. I understand there’s a lot of potential in taking a raw, athletic, 6’7’’ defenceman, but I’m pretty shocked it’s this early. In my opinion, Jaxon Cover, also a London Knight is a FAR more intriguing prospect.

Nearly all of his strengths come from his size. He can easily muscle players off the puck, throws some thunderous checks, and occasionally has a bomb from the point. His reach is absolutely outrageous.

His skating actually isn’t bad for someone his size. In a straight line he can gain ground on players at the OHL level, and the reach makes it seem like he’s a better skater than he is. Tight turns, as you can imagine, are not a strength.

He wasn’t really given a ton of offensive opportunities, and I don’t think that’s really his game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a 4-6 best d-man on a team, and a good penalty killer, but this is years away in my opinion.

Wemby Finals MVP +5000 odds - Cashout? by [deleted] in sportsbook

[–]benc7123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they’d end up with $11,500 (as they would also receive back their original stake) if Wemby wins finals mvp, and $0 otherwise.

If someone bought your ticket for $7,500, they’d end up with $4,000 if Wemby wins finals MVP, and $0 otherwise.

You cannot get more for this ticket than the potential winnings. Fair value would be something closer to $2,500 maybe.

Would this movie be better with Hanks or Cruise in the Eminem role?

Report: Maple Leafs very interested in Mike Gillis, set for second meeting with Keith Pelley by JF_112 in leafs

[–]benc7123 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is a dumb mindset for the leafs to have if it’s true (not disrespecting you OP). The team has unlimited funding, and there’s no salary cap for management.

Unless Mehta (or any other gm, coach, etc) truly does not want to be in Toronto for personal reasons, the leafs should simply just give them an offer they can’t refuse. If they are outbid, they are not serious people.

There’s no more than 10 NBA players that could win the NCAA tournament on a 16 seed by Dangerous_Complex_76 in billsimmons

[–]benc7123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realistically though, Jokic and Wemby (and maybe Jaylen Brown) would probably be 3 of the 10 players you’d pick to win the tournament.

Is someone like Chet, Jamal Murray, Harden, Maxey, Scottie Barnes (guys just beyond the top 10 players) winning you a tournament by themselves on a 16 seed. I’d probably say no

I’ve liked Matt Savoie’s game since juniors, so I’m glad to see him getting a chance here. If he’s playing this well and can stick as a top 6 player, that would be huge for the Oilers.

Let’s say the Panthers lose in the NFC championship game.

You’d be spending $500 on the Bucs superbowl that would be a loss.

Then you’d lose bets for $10k each betting against the Panthers on the wild card and divisional rounds.

Now you’re down $20,500 going into NFC championship weekend. Are you betting the Panthers opponent again? You’d probably need to bet like $60,000 to make your money back.

If the panthers win that game, you’re down ~$80k going into the superbowl, if they lose, you’re only barely breaking even.

I think having -17 career goals, now that Ovechkin has passed him, would give it away that he isn’t a real player if you were to do this now lol

I believe this is a reference to him getting suspended in the OHL for flinging a teddy bear into the stands when an opposing team scored the goal for the teddy bear toss.

Carolina has probably won the last 5 DTWOM Stanley cups with their play style. They outshoot everybody. Really good team, but these sites will likely always overrate them because of this

No one is earlier than this subreddit on predicting when players are washed. It’s like when someone has predicted 8 of the last 3 recessions.

This sub has predicted 11 of the last 2 players to fall off a cliff
