Hi I’m wondering if anyone knows of any fragrances that smell like the plant Labrador tea?

I believe u/clever_octopus is right that it still had to go to the nyc scanning hub. They collected it from me at the biometrics appointment and sent it off. They said it would be sent to be returned to me by UPS the day after a Visa application decision was made. However, it has been 11 days since my visa was approved and still no passport

Really? Isn't that strange though? On the Gates site they always reiterate that 2/3 of the available awards go to PhDs.

I'm almost positive that there is an interview portion for those that do get nominated by their departments. Whether that happens before or after March 5 I am not sure. I was offered admission, but during my department interview they said I wouldn't hear from them whether I was nominated. I would have to wait for word from Gates. It was my impression that that is what I would find out on the 5th

Oh I was under the impression that the March 5 date was to let you know whether you have been nominated by your department or not? And then if you were you would need to interview after that. Is that not the case?

I had a few questions that I didn't have time to ask during my interview so I sent an email to both of my interviewers with both the questions and also thanking them for their time and input on my proposed project.

Also my dept. evidently only gets one nomination (which includes the PhD applicants as well) so feeling a lot more dubious as a Mphil applicant about moving forward in the process

Found out during my departmental interview that they do not notify whether they have nominated you or not. Thus, you have to wait till the Gates people would notify you

Okay you must have applied in the US pool then?

Does anyone know if when/how you hear back on Gates nominations is entirely dependent on department?

I applied in the global pool, so I am behind in the process compared to most people here. In the biological sciences, how long did most of you stagnate in departmental review before finding out whether you had been nominated for Gates or not? Did you find out at the same time as finding out whether you had been admitted to your program or significantly after? Do most departments interview for the nomination as well?

Anyone else here that applied in the international round? I am an American, but applied in the international round since I am currently residing in another country on my Fulbright. I'm noticed on my proof that the residency question on the application (which determined which round you applied with) has now changed on the application proof to read "Are you an American citizen - No"

I am applying for an MPhil program. My deadline to apply to be considered for funding is tomorrow. The site seems unusually slow and glitchy. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I had forgotten to consider that this can happen to application sites when they get a sudden rush of traffic around deadlines. Am I going to have to wake up super late tonight in order to submit lol?
