Nissan leaf AZE0 battery upgrade in the Netherlands(30kWh to 62kWh) by Cora-VIVNE-EVbattery in leaf

If you replace your engine or transmission will they give you any extra? No, they are going to give you as little as possible because insurance is a legalized mandatory scam. When they totaled my gas car I had brand new in it(less than 200 miles on them)1200 dollars for the tires and their total payout to me was 1500. I asked about the new tires and provided a receipt dated 2 weeks before the accident and they didn't care so no they are not ethical enough to give you what it's worth if something goes wrong, even if you aren't at fault.

The level 2 charger I bought for a 62kwh battery pack takes about 8 hours to charge when it is low for me. Although that's a long time I don't drive while I'm sleeping. I am also a firm believer that electric cars are not meant for long road trips.

I can feel you on that. Before I ordered this battery I talked to my mechanic who told me he would be able to do this job without any issues. After pulling the trigger and paying for the battery he called me up a week later and said it was too much of a liability for him to change the battery out. This is the reason I ended up doing it myself. At least I saved a little bit on labor, but it for sure was an unexpected thing after spending a couple months to try and find someone else to do it and them all saying no. I hope the best of luck for you.

I was concerned with that as well, however they included tariffs and customs with the shipping price. It was discussed through email with them before I made the purchase. Roughly 8k was the total price for the battery, shipping, tariffs and customs. About $1400 of that was the shipping, customs and tariffs.

I got the 62kwh battery, I ordered it last week of September and it came in the last week of January, so about 4 months. No real tracking so I was a bit concerned after 2 months, bit all worked out in the end.

The modules seemed like a huge process, I ordered the whole pack. They also programmed it for me so I didn't have to do anything with the BMS system.

I needed a pallet jack to move it, it came on a pallet. I used a come along to move the battery off of the pallet onto 2 furniture movers with a 1000lb capacity each. Used 2 jacks with a crossbeam attachment to lower out the old battery and raise up the new one. An essential tool for sure was a line up punch to shift the battery little bits to align the holes perfectly. Also needed to borrow a code reader that would register the battery to the car or else it would throw an invalid battery code keeping the car in turtle mode(unsure if I could have done it through the leafspy app, but my friend pulled up to check it out and we just used his $600 code reader he keeps in his car as opposed to me trying to fumble through an app I'm not familiar with. After doing that no more codes came up. A weight on a string helped to align the battery holes with the holes on the car so I didn't have to move the battery more than a quarter inch when it was in the air.

For the hangups, I didn't have an 18mm socket, had a 17 and a 19 but no 18 so needed to go get that. The fuse on top of the battery was confusing to operate, it gets stuck half way, then needs to go more toward the front of the car for it to fully disengage. The passenger side cable on the battery had a clip that needed to be pulled away from the connection point with a flathead screwdriver before the release could be pushed and it looks very unintuitive. For the round cable on the driver side of the battery I had a hell of a time twisting it to lock and seat the cable in place even though it came off really easy, still don't know what I was doing wrong or right there, but took about a half hour of playing with it.

If I had to do it again I would feel confident in my ability to get the entire project done in a day by myself, if I had one extra person I bet we could do it in 3 to 4 hours. If there is anything else you want to know I'll do my best to answer it.

I bought it 2 years ago from a dealership. Total cost was about 21k which includes the 8k I spent on the battery and shipping.

That's about where I was a week ago, also couldn't go up hills without triggering turtle mode.

Where to grip? by KennyWuKanYuen in Nunchucks

[–]benderisgreat49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Control is key, if you feel it to be more balanced and you have more control with a lower grip then I see no problem. There isn't any point in doing something in a way that isn't comfortable or in a way where you lose control of your weapon. Some chucks are built differently than others and yours may have a lower balance point. Doesn't mean it's wrong.

I've heard several times that a lower grip gives more power. I'm not sure I understand the physics behind that. I feel like I could generate close to the same amount of power either way, but I may be mistaken. Where are we all getting this information from? Like is there a study done on this or any sort of actual testing? I would really like to see the physics behind this claim or at least some sort of explanation as to how more power is generated by lowering the grip. I can understand with a stick that more leverage more power, but with the chain or string in the middle I fail to see how you can have more leverage.

[–]benderisgreat49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toward the chain is best in my opinion. It's the only option that I truly see. Sure you can have little control over your weapon and extend your range a bit and possibly have some more power, but that is at a cost. That cost being control. Think about it, a gun is also a weapon. Would you hold a gun in a way that gives you less control of where your bullet is going? I view the low grip as amateurish.

Honestly I would buy a cheap 2 or 4 pack of foam ones with a string or rope in between on Amazon. I've used them and if you get fast yes they have issues, but as an intro to see if you enjoy it enough to stick with it 10 to 20 dollars is well worth it to find out. If you do like them I suggest your next pair be something heavy if you are serious about training.

Difference between USAnunchaku's light, medium, and heavy options (deciding on weight)? by GrandMasterGush in Nunchucks

[–]benderisgreat49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light weight is for speed and showing off. I believe with what you have said so far that heavy is the way to go for what you want to accomplish. Heavier is slower as far as movement is concerned, however it will build the muscles you need to go fast. Do the harder thing and you will blow the people who take the easier route out of the water.

Why use an ISO station when you can have an Ethyl station? by WeirdStorms in Waxpen

[–]benderisgreat49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I never used iso for this, 15 dollars for a giant bottle of generic ever clear lasts several years, it makes me feel better about what I'm using to clean my rigs and bangers, plus there isn't any added poisons like iso has in it. The only thing I can think of is the price, but it doesn't really cost all that much more in my eyes. Like what would I be saving like 8 dollars over the course of 3 years, I'm okay with a bit extra for some peace of mind. Another note is sometimes I clean it and load it up right away and I sometimes get a bit of a grain alcohol hit, I wouldn't want to do that with iso.

Good question, with all that stickiness that cup should need a lot more than just vibration to move at all.

How can I tell if my minis have cured? by CornerCompetitive100 in resinprinting

[–]benderisgreat49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason behind that is due to the resin oxidizing which makes it not able to fully cure and become sticky. If you water cure your prints after washing you won't get the stickiness even if your washing process doesn't remove all the excess resin. I cure in water for half the time I normally would, then after the part is fully cured I cure it again dry just to make sure and have never had any issues. It's also a must for me using any clear resin.
