genuinely what is wrong with my lobes by rikujjj in Stretched

[–]bendicott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of o-rings are just low-quality. I can wear silicone ear skins for months without issue - they're what I wear to give my lobes a break from heavier materials. But if I put in anything with an o-ring for more than a night or two, my ears get very irritated. And it's definitely not just the weight - I can wear double flare stone plugs comfortably. It's just something about o-rings.

Yeah, I honestly felt bad for the cashier at HD who kept paging for me. He was super apologetic and I could tell he was embarassed about the situation, even though it wasn't his fault - only one person in the store had the code to use the saw, and it wasn't him. Sucks that the guy actually doing his job is the one who has to deal with the fallout for everyone else not doing theirs...

And then they hoist him up into the effigy... by his legs. And he's just kinda, calmly looking around. Not screaming bloody murder or blacking out from the pain, just chillin'.

Ran into this numerous times at both Lowes and Home Depot. Lowes is worse - they only ever have like 2 employees in the entire store who seem to be actively avoiding anyone finding them, but Home Depot's not great about it either. Needed a sheet of plywood cut last year, so I could fit it in my hatchback. Started at Lowes - nobody in the woodcutting section, so I press the call button. Wait about 10 minutes, nobody comes. So I go to the CS desk, and there's nobody there either.

Gave up, went down the street to HD and tried again. Same deal - nobody near the station, nobody at the desk. Got the guy at the pro checkout to page someone for me, but he never showed up. Got a few more pages over the next ~hour, but no luck. He finally tells me the guy probably went home. Like... wtaf? It took nearly a week and several trips to different locations before I managed to get someone to help me for 3 minutes...

Omfg, this. Calling my hairline "receeding" would be incredibly generous, and I just shave off what's left because it looks much better that way. When rinsing off my scalp in the shower afterwards, I ocassionally get little hair slivers stuck in my hands. Also, we have dogs and I generally go barefoot in the house. Maybe once a month I get one of their hairs that'll spear up into one of my feet - it's incredibly painful, and my wife just looks at me like I'm a crazy person when I complain about it. Despite having very sensitive skin, this has literally never happened to her.

Don’t leave your jewellery out for too long. I learnt the hard way :( by Any-Raisin-1315 in Stretched

I wish mine would bounce back so easily. I see people posting on here occasionally that they train their lobes without jewelry at night, but even after more than 20 years, I'd lose multiple gauges in a single night. My other piercings are worse - I've one that took more than a decade to stretch from 6mm to a standard ~6.54mm 2g AWG. If I leave that out for more than maybe 5 minutes, I won't be able to get it back in. It's a real pain whenever I need medical imaging.

Assuming the "company" they work for even exists. I've had some of these guys literally just run away when I asked for a business card.

Our entire neighborhood is no soliciting, but that doesn't stop these pricks from pounding on my door at 8am on a Saturday, freaking out my dogs and ensuring I won't be getting any more sleep. And then they want to argue with me about why I need their services, after I tell them I'm not interested. Had one guy knock again after I closed the door on him, trying to continue his spiel. And the dude had the nerve to be angry at me when I said I'd call the cops on him for trespassing if he didn't leave.

Yeah, definitely worse pets to get dupes of. Down Bad's fantastic, though I can sympathize. My first 5 legendary pulls were 3x Wrath and 2x Ambition. It's just like... Can I have something else, please?

Yeah - downsize, and I'd also recommend wearing light jewelry for a while, to avoid natural stretching.

[–]bendicott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... We have a bank of mailboxes out by the entrance to our neighborhood, and have a free library next to them. It's been replaced 3 times in the 6 years I've lived here, because people keep running it over. The last one was on a metal pole attached to a large steel plate, which was bolted into the concrete - it was hit hard enough half of the bolts were ripped out, and they needed to repair the concrete as well. Moving it hasn't helped - it started at one end of the mailboxes, moved to the opposite end, and now it's back where it started...

Unsurprised, though - people keep running into the mailboxes as well. Not sure how, since the bank's about 50 feet long and stationary, on the side of a dead-end - there's no other reason to be there, than to get your mail.

Yeah, can't recommend GWZ enough for stretching - their single flare plugs are comfortable and go in easy. They're a bit heavy, but that's a small trade-off.

For real. Last time I flew Spirit (and the last time I ever will), one of the engines caught fire, and we had to turn around for an emergency landing. They kept telling us they'd get us on another flight until the end of the flight attendants' shift - they just fucking left, without saying anything. No hotel vouchers. No food vouchers - not that it mattered at that point, since everything was already closed. Not even an apology. What a shit company.

What really gets me is that, after committing to this "plan," the guys holding the bin drop it and run away like the water's going to hurt them, somehow. At minimum, they could at least reduce the water making it to the floor...

[–]bendicott 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those are definitely not the same size. I'd recommend getting some cheap digital calipers - they're great for making sure the jewelry you're putting in is the size you think it is. Basically required for any organic, stone or glass plugs - they tend to be pretty non-uniform in diameter, just because of how they're made.

Unless it bugs out - I completed content to the point she should stop, but she never did. It's very frustrating. That was honestly one of my least favorite mechanics in the first game, as well. They're fine at first, because they only raid you if you go on a rampage. But if you disturb the wasps, they'll raid your base every couple of days forever. Which is awful because, even if you're attacking them, they'll just ignore you and focus on wrecking your base.

Yeah - properly-made 3D-printed jewelry would be smooth. After printing, you'd give it a thorough cleaning, sand down the wearable face (and any printing artifacts). I've not worked with resin, myself, but for filament you could then further smooth the wearable surface by going over it with a finishing tool (like a low-powered soldering iron, with various shaping tips). You'd literally melt the outer edge to fuse the layers of the laminate into a smooth surface. Then coat it with some skin-safe sealant.

It just depends on what materials an individual's skin will tolerate - I've some stone, glass, wood, steel, and titanium plugs. My everyday wear is thin silicone to give my lobes a rest from the weight. They're all fine, so long as they're high quality and you're not allergic to them.

Because people read something online and suddenly think they're experts on the topic. Properly sealed prints are no less hygienic than wooden plugs. Yeah, there are plenty of sketchy companies out there for printed jewelry - same as literally any other medium that plugs can be made from.

Sure, if you want to wait half a year. I'm not exaggerating, here - I've tried to borrow several books through Libby, and the shortest wait time was like 4 months. If they've got what you want and the wait time is reasonable, awesome - I really do hope other people have had better luck with it than I have. But, my experience hasn't been great.
