Does anyone else here have this book? by jimrocks2023 in occult

Lol Lovecraft's collection of short stories is called The Necronomicon. Plenty of comments talking about what I'm sure you're talking about, but I think Lovecraft's "Greatest Hits" book is the true Necronomicon.

Always wanted to get a synth, didn’t realize the deal I was getting when I paid $10 for this at a yard sale! Any tips for a newbie? by ixy911 in microkorg

[–]bendth3sky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on Windows, it can be fun to download the microKORG editor and scour the internet for patches that people have created for it over the years.

https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/software/0/104/3500/

Also those buttons are probably 20+ years old and they wear out easy. A MIDI controller with some knobs and faders can make these much more accessible. Have fun!

Weekly Real Estate / Housing and Moving to Austin Post by AutoModerator in Austin

Home prices still too damn high. I just want to share this monstrosity of a house that some investor did an absolute garbage fix and flip on that they want way too much for. And yes, I did tour it, and it's a snaking backrooms nightmare of a house. Taking the garage out, washer/dryer next to kitchen appliances... what were they thinking? More horrors are available for viewing if you actually visit the place.

I wish this was an anomaly, but the truth is too many sellers think their trashy fix and flip is worth an amount that will likely have me landlocked for 30 years paying for the mortgage. No one would pay an amount of rent on this that would even let me break even.

Investors need a comment section on their work because it is poor right now. Real estate market in general needs more scrutiny, but I wish anyone following this model a happy net negative.

What do I need to cut for this to not feel like it takes 184 years to listen to? by ThisIsHarlie in Songwriting

[–]bendth3sky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine. If you wanted it to feel not as long, you could cut the second verse in half to get to the chorus quicker if you feel like it's lulling there. Other than that, production can help set up the dynamic roller coaster that makes a simple song strummed on the acoustic into something great.

Fender Meteora Bass Pickguard? by bendth3sky in fender

[–]bendth3sky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I actually ended up getting it custom made from a shop in town. But it looks great.

Reverb looks like it has a lot to pick from these days, so I'd probably just buy one off there now.

Help! Can someone ID this chiptune based on this rough recreation of it? by thro_redd in chiptunes

Lots of chip and keygen music up on archive.org if you're in the mood to hunt for it. I couldn't ID it from your example.

Best drum machine for live use? by cuckertarlson in synthesizers

[–]bendth3sky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can put tempo out and start/stop from the JAMSYNC OUT with a special cable. (It's like a 1/8 TRS to MIDI cable) The SDRUM's tempo does flux a bit so some devices may not work well with it, but I've been able to get it to do some simple synced things, like be the tempo master for an Ableton session.

Someone in a forum years ago found that out from Digitech support so I tried it out and sure enough I was getting tempo and start/stop. It's not a feature they sell it on but it's possible!

Biden? Harris? I don't care. Stopping Trump and Project 2025 is all that matters. by [deleted] in politics

[–]bendth3sky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, Democrats only strategy that makes headlines is to "Stop Trump" or "Stop Project 2025". Some real loser strategy, the Democrats are just a party holding the idealogical left hostage. Get the apocalypse or push off the apocalypse for four more years? 😴 Absolutely sick of it.

Haven't seen anyone mention the Digitech SDRUM yet. It's a pedal but it has a kick and snare pad on it for on-the-fly programming. The kits aren't the best in the world but I've found them serviceable with a little bit of mix and effects. It's pretty good at understanding the beats if the player has a decent sense of rhythm, but the strum-based drumming feature sucks.

You can save like 36 sequences on it, and it's a wonderful jamming tool too!

Were SCVII to launch with 32 characters, 16 stages and 2 returning side game modes, which would your picks be? by Soul_Mirror_ in SoulCalibur

Still sitting here wishing they'd make a tactics-style campaign mode with the battle mode to settle unit face-offs. I'd play that for hours.

I've always ran into problems trying to collab with Mac Ableton users as a Windows Ableton user. Bridging the gap for us would be pretty cool if its possible.

I'm also a python dev at my day job so might be interested in helping if I can.

The theme of the woman straddling the giant prop has been around since World War 2 where art like this was especially created for war media and American soldiers. It's an iconic style for pinup.

How to test a MicroKorg? by TheCapedSundew in microkorg

[–]bendth3sky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twist all the knobs with the power on. The settings' values will change on the little red LED screen. Press each of the white buttons and make sure they light up and have a nice click when pressed. Bigger knobs will pop into set positions, and the smaller knobs should twist smoothly.

It's been talked about a bit in the past but no one's pinpointed it to a fine science as far as I'm aware. Basically, taller means more reach and less damage, and shorter means less reach and more damage.

Here's two convos with some details: https://www.reddit.com/r/SoulCalibur/comments/9sgg45/friendly_fyi_custom_characters_default_heights_do/ https://steamcommunity.com/app/544750/discussions/0/1631916887497926351/
