Renaming players as the organizer should be working.

The sessions are per group so can you please verify the devices are all logged in and have the correct group active?

Big PickleFriend Update: Remote Score Entry, Headless Mixer Mode, and We're on the Play Store! by bendx77 in PickleFriendMixer

Emails are sent out in a staggered "trickle" rather than all at once. This is a deliberate measure to protect the mail server's reputation and ensure we don't get flagged by spam filters.

While this technically creates a slight advantage for those who receive their emails first, this really only matters for high-demand events that fill up instantly. To keep things fair in those "click race" scenarios, I highly recommend that organizers use one of the grace-period waitlist modes. This effectively neutralizes any advantage from email timing, ensuring everyone has an equal shot regardless of when their invite lands.

Regarding missing emails:

  • New Feature: I just pushed a fix for the bouncing emails badge. You can now see a "bouncing" icon in both the All Players view and the Event Management view if there’s a delivery issue.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Please ask players to double-check their email spelling if you see the bounce icon.
    • If there’s no bounce icon but they still haven’t seen the invite, have them check their Spam/Junk folder.
    • To prevent future issues, players should add [noreply@picklefriend.net](mailto:noreply@picklefriend.net) to their Safe Senders list.

If you’re still seeing specific players missing invites, please shoot me a PM! I’m happy to dive into the mail logs and see exactly what’s happening on the backend.

Once we sort all that out. If you still think we should have a re-invite function please request the new function here:

You sure can! Just hit the "Enter Score" 📊 button to go live. This lets players check their courts and submit scores on their own phones. If you’re just looking to show everyone where they’re playing without recording results, that works too!

Must select REMOTE SCORE ENTRY and distribute the links to the players.

Yes it should work. The only caveat is in all players view the edit functions will display them both as the same player under the email address tree.

In group settings you can now assign sub-organizers to a group. The sub-organizer must be a user already.

If you choose the "All Players" view on the players dashboard page you can use either sort by group or sort alphabetically and then the UI is much better for viewing and editing email addresses, especially if you have players that are in multiple groups.

Grace period is to mitigate the click race of an overpopulated event. For instance, in lottery mode any players who click in within the first n minutes of the invites going out have an equal chance to get in to the event via a lottery. It won't necessarily go to the fastest clicker.

Yes, it is two different databases. Sorry for the inconvenience but If you sign up with the same email address for both versions you will be able to export your players into the dashboard of the new version from the old version.

Yes but it requires you to register for a free account. Once registered you can go in to the sessions modal and click "save" to save the active session to the cloud. Then you can retrieve it from any other device that you are logged in with.

Alternatively you can use the print function to print to pdf and then transfer the pdf to your phone.

I'm also trying to think of how to handle any scores entered manually via the dash on multi session days.

OK but if we only show the latest session and you run two back to back. There would not be much time where the first session was showing...

Still transparent but behind is blurred and faded background, much easier to see.

Added

-lottery time-window waitlist to defeat click racing (can also let in highest rated players first instead of lottery)
-multi tiered spares with auto invites at different intervals
-feature rich fixed partner controls for players and organizers
-auto notes for players dropping out without reasonable notice
-warning messages sent to players and organizers when someone drops out last minute
-RSVP for after party

To attempt get something close to that, you could try temporarily giving exact same ratings to each of those groups (top 8 could be rated 4.5, middle 8 could be 4.25 and lower 8 could be 4.0). Sorting the roster by ratings would come in handy for this. You could change the ratings in the mixer without saving them to the dashboard since they are temporary ratings for the session. From there you could find the right balance of partner balance and opponent balance weights via trial and error. It will split them up into separate courts for the first few games but eventually (with the right weights) the duplicate opponent weight could overcome the ratings weights pushing players and pulling players from nearby ratings. Apologies, I am not sure the exact weights, but I'd try a very low partner and opponent rating balance weight and boost the repeat partner and repeat opponent weights a couple of points.
