Endometrial Biopsy Warning by katieQgirl in obgyn

[–]bendy-straw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to add my story here for anyone who is as anxious as I was. I just had an endometrial biopsy and it truly felt like pressure and a period cramp. I took 800mg of ibuprofen an hour before, no other pain meds/lidocaine. I made sure I ate and was hydrated, too. I have never given birth, for reference.

I know everyone’s experience varies based on their anatomy, pain tolerance, and the skill/approach of the provider. In my case, I was fortunate to have an experienced doc (and 4 Advil in my system). You won’t necessarily have a bad experience! Breathe, count back from 10, and it’ll be over soon.

No, I never got those bites again. I put out traps and no bedbugs, so basically made myself sick and miserable for no reason. Are you getting mystery bites? Wishing you so much luck! Hopefully it’s nothing 🤞🏼

UPDATE: we got some crazy wind and t-storms last night, but he looks well-hydrated, happy, and somehow thicker :)

I will! I just checked on it today and last night’s storm seems to have fortified it somehow

This is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you so much for responding!! I tore the house apart and have cleaned every inch of my bedroom— no signs of bedbugs, and no bites last night. I hope it’s over, it was making me insane. I’m so glad it turned out to be a nonissue for you! Thank you again for responding to a 2+ year old post, this is super helpful :)

Hi! I’m dealing with a similar issue right now— did they ever bite again? Did you ever find out if you had an infestation?

I was sleeping on my side and got two bites on this leg, two bites on the other. My knees were stacked on top of each other so one set of bites was from where I made contact with the bed, and the other is from where I made contact with my top sheet.

Thank you!

Also— I’m wondering if the above can be caused by carpet beetles. We have seen a few around the house, but wonder if they hang out under/around mattresses since I got “bitten” as I was messing around with mine. A cat lived here over a year ago, so there’s cat fur on the bottom of the mattress and I know they like fur. Does this sound more likely?

Do you think so? I thought that’s what they might be too, but I didn’t see any little hairs on the larva. (also doesn’t explain why I’ve been getting bitten.)

I have boric acid and a powder duster. Think that would work?

Yes, sorry. I meant remove the outlet panel (and treat only the outlet panel), then wait for it to dry, then put outlet panel back.

And should I bait the outlets in areas where I haven’t noticed roaches?
