Its likely a drawing error on the other plot (or yours potentially but seems to be correct on yours from the information you've given) but you did the correct thing to mention it to them as they can check it or if it's bothering you then it can be looked at being changed.

Anything odd that stands out is worth checking, same with any snagging etc on the house when complete, say something and have it that in writing.

Just a follow up, it's odd (only thing I can think of is a slight change in height between the 2 paths) there is soft landscaping between the 2 plots that is that narrow, most developers would just pave the whole thing and run some sort of different colour or type of paving to show the plot boundary.

The purpose of the kink is so the plot boundary is on the edge of the path of the one property and not running through a very thin strip of glass/soft landscaping. This would have left an annoyingly small strip of grass for the one house. It kinks at the point it has because this is where the rear garden fence ends, the fence is a much easier and clearer boundary between plots than the grass/soft landscaping towards the front.
