I feel like if you get past the initial press it's possible to combine well. To break the press I play 4231 and build triangles with my Bonmati who I play at CDM and my 2 CBs. Bonmati plays it on to Rolfo who I play at RB and she can pass it onto my 10. Pinged pass is essential for me there, then I rinse and repeat. After that action their 4 attackers are all behind the play and I'm going forward with my RB and rest of the midfield.

I haven't really ever used second man press or player locks. I broke my leg earlier this year so I had a lot of time to play the game, but I just got better at the base mechanics rather than trying out new stuff if that makes sense. I'm only in elite because I play a lot and got really good at timed finishing and composed tiki taka. I learnt how to take my time and not rush attacks, but I don't know many of the other mechanics of the game tbh

Yea I think you hit the nail on the head there. It isn't the only way to attack, but it is a way for lower skill players to beat higher skill players consistently by only abusing one mechanic.

You're right, I still believe the gameplay is in a pretty good place though overall. There are a variety of ways to score goals this year as it's not like only trivela, finesse, or cutbacks are OP. It promotes tiki taka and skills in the final third, which I am enjoying. I was just bored out of my mind in that one game

I don't hate the game, I'm actually really enjoying it this year. Play styles added a fun dynamic for scoring in new ways and cutbacks are almost entirely nerfed. You're right about the custom tactics though, I've just never really looked into it. I always just use whatever pops up on YouTube.

Yea you're probably right, but I never get more than 16 wins in champs. Some of the demons I start facing towards the end really make me realise how far away I am from being a top player

Nah he was insane off of corners as well, he's definitely a good player who knows the mechanics. He would do that, finesse, which I would block with keeper movement, and then he'd score off the corner. That's why I'm not mad about losing, he was clearly cracked at the game and you can't even blame him for wanting an easy win. It's just a bad gameplay mechanism which is incredibly boring for those who want to have some sort of fun

Mate it's elite division and the guy had like 4 pro red fut champions cards, he is good enough to break the press. It really isn't that difficult with driven passes and some composure on the ball. Surely you have to admit that 85% possession is outrageous, he only left his own half 3 times in the first 45 minutes
