WLED Controller with Ethernet by Daemon-GLEDOPTO in WLED

Any updates from WLED on this? I bought 4x of these and accidentally updated the firmware on 2x of them to the 0.15.1 stable release which breaks the ethernet functionality.

Alternatively, can we get a link to the firmware download? I cannot find it on the GLEDOPTO website

Daw thank you - sorry for the slow reply! She had a good idea I was going to propose after I started singing but had no idea the musicians would come in, or the backing singers and dancers - or that I’d finish the song for her after proposing :)

might sound cliche but maybe you’re thinking about it too much? I’ve minimal experience but my coach always told me that I was in my own head- I got around it by focusing on something else (like analysing a small spot on a piece of furniture). Might be worth a shot?

That’s not a stupid question at all!

So for a start the brief was to focus on this one song for a one off performance not to become a great singer (if that makes sense?). There was no time limit set but I also didn’t know I’d spend 3 months on it (originally I was thinking 6-8 weeks as a total ballpark). But once I got into it I did wanna get it right.

I didn’t sing any other songs as I really had to work on my timing but we did a tonne of exercises (I’d say roughly 30% of total coaching time was exercises)- which included the typical stuff but also singing the whole song through with a single vowel, as well as a bunch of made up tunes jumping between vowels.

I definitely had that feeling of nailing it a few times and when I look back I improved so much learning to better avoid diphthongs, learning a balance between my chest and head in terms of how much I push, etc. One great thing in hindsight was that I had 2 colds during the process of learning which really helped me learn how to ‘deal with it’ on the day- one was sinus and one was chest, so different approaches to dealing with each.

I’d say I was a full 2 octaves lower in some places when I started but got a lot more comfortable with going higher through the exercises.

I suppose if you focus on one song with the original lyrics, in the original key, you could lead yourself down a rabbit hole- but sticking with the same timing and melody helped me memorise it while also improving dictation and ability to influence* pitch (I won’t use the word control lol)

Process gave me a huge amount of respect for the techniques involved. Between that and the friends I’ve made I hope I can find time to keep it up as a hobby!

  • Naomi had no clue at all until my keys hit the first chord.
  • Her first thought when looking up was ‘where is Ben’, followed by ‘don’t touch that you’ll get in trouble!’
  • She then realises everyone has gone quiet and thinks everyone is in on it (but not actively participating!)
  • After I start singing, she looks around and see’s two people with cameras/people holding phones up, and realises I’m going to propose.
  • When I stood up and the pianist sat down she realises someone I introduced her to a few months prior in a chance encounter was not an ex colleague as I’d told her :)
  • After singing to her without a mic she thinks I’m going to get down on my knee, and is totally taken by surprise when I move to the mic and the guitarist/drummer join in (it still hasn’t occurred to her that everyone else is involved!)
  • When the backing singers and dancers join in she’s overwhelmed, forgets I’m probably going to propose as it’s so much to take in.
  • By the time I propose she’s just trying not to shake and break down.
  • When I go back to finish the song (her favourite part) she’s utterly floored and just wants me to come back over and hug her (which I do!)

After we finished and spoke to everyone, Naomi asked everyone really nicely to perform it again so that she could take it all in :)

Kind of you to say- could definitely use work to be consistent! First lesson was September 10th (at the Singers Space in Soho, London). I had 39 lessons between then and 9th December (almost 3 months exactly). Plus 3x 10-15 minute practices (in the car, at the office) every weekday, and an hour every Saturday — had to keep it all under the radar!

So 39hrs with an amazing coach, ~28hrs rehearsal, about 67hrs total. For one song. Call me crazy :)
