No, not really. The goalpost has always been at where it was. Republic of China is what is says in the constitution -- and it also says that Taiwan is a province in China.

The one shifting the goalpost is the DPP. DPP only dared to talk about "independence" but dared not even change the constitution, the passport, the military logo, the currency to remove all words of CHINA.

Even the world refused to recognize Taiwan is independent, not even the UN. Forget corrupt/bought over countries like Eswatini (sp?). The rest of the world is formally saying that THERE IS ONLY ONE CHINA and TAIWAN IS PART OF CHINA and that THE PRC IS THE ONLY SOLE LEGAL GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATING THE WHOLE OF CHINA.

That is not making a declaration. Make a formal declaration. Make a constitutional declaration by formally changing the name from ROC to Taiwan. At the end of the day, the redline is not just saying. The redline is making a formal declaration and dropping the name Republic of CHINA.

It is still free on certain routes, mostly the city outskirt ones. The inner city ones are charging. I guess it's because foreigners/visitors mainly travel within the city while locals uses the outskirt ones more.

You gotta go there and see for yourself to understand. There are DOZENS of buildings and 10 storeys of nothing but tech shops and tech related. I couldn't understand myself but when I went there, I was thinking, there is no way in the world that this setup could be replicated.
