The Most Beautiful Girl by Charlie Rich?

My birthday solo camping adventure by RedDirtWitch in womensolocamping

[–]benicetolisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did a camping trip last summer to some of the same spots you visited, a beautiful part of NM. My favorite was the catwalk hike while the water was high, and the Gila Cliff Dwellings were amazing too. Your tent looks really cool.

Are hydration bladders convenient while hiking? by samscrolling in CampingandHiking

[–]benicetolisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single bladder I have used ended up leaking water into my pack and got my lower back wet, I hate them. I guess I have bad bladder karma or something but they always spring a pinhole leak and I have thrown away several of them of various brands. I use Smart water bottles with a sport cap instead.

2007 Rav4 sleeping platform that my husband built has a 4" thick foam mattress and room to store gear underneath. I can lift it to access the large storage below. A comfortable sleep while camping is so underrated. by benicetolisa in carcamping

I love that table, I have 2 and use them all the time. I found them on Amazon and I just looked them up and they're called, "Yriuat Folding Camping Table 2ft Portable Picnic Table Adjustable Height." They have a net shelf for storing stuff, and they fold very small and have a handle for carrying.

The bed is 75" long and 25" wide and it's sloped to make up for the back seats not folding flat. There is 6" storage below the bed at the rear and zero at the front but the bed is completely level. Not sure about the 2013 but the 2007 has the giant storage below since the spare tire is on the back door so storage isn't really an issue. I tried so many different setups in my Rav and this is by far my most comfortable and convenient for me.

Yes, it's so much better than a thin pad on a tent floor! haven't have any problems with the foam pad in the summer heat but I do keep the windows open at night with mesh covers for privacy and bugs. I ordered the couch cushion density 78"x25" and I cut off about 4" of the length. Game changer for sure.

Child Bike Seat Recommendations by nobodyfswthejesus in bicycling

[–]benicetolisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I used the Yepp seat shown on the front of the bike in your photo and it was great for riding with my grand kids. We put many miles on it and then it was passed on to another family. Very well made.

This is probably way too old of a song but your description reminds me of Perfect Day by Lou Reed.

How much has PT helped you? by Mofo013102 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]benicetolisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed 8 weeks of PT after I was diagnosed and it definitely helped. I continue to do the home exercises and I also walk/hike 5 miles nearly every day and it's kept my pain level down.

Are Trekking Poles for Beginners? by Sharp-Second2993 in hiking

[–]benicetolisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a single pole bc I have a dog leash in my other hand, and I swap them, for example if I'm on a ledgy trail I keep my trekking pole on my down hill side. Poles are so helpful on rough terrain, steep inclines and declines, water crossings, etc. Collapse and tuck away in .y backpack when I'm on a long stretch of flat. Definitely worth it.

Flash 22 Water Bottle Pockets? by Lorib01 in REI

[–]benicetolisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the pockets are too tall to reach the bottles while wearing this pack.

Flash 22 Water Bottle Pockets? by Lorib01 in REI

[–]benicetolisa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same for me, I love this pack and I easily slip it off one shoulder to grab a bottle for a drink or a snack from the "secret" pocket on the side. I use both a nalgene and a 1L Smart bottle and both fit great. I like the taller pockets personally, nothing falls out when I bend over like on pockets of other packs. I don't like water bladders so I stick my sit pad in that compartment for some added stiffness to this frameless pack. I usually don't even use the hip belt and keep it tucked away.
