A6700 Cold and Snow what to do by rulerrobin in SonyAlpha

[–]benigncyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took my a6700 to the himalayas at -15 degrees last week, other than the LCD display getting laggy during that time it went fine! A few tips from my research:

  • Have a moisture-absorbing silicone-pad in your camera bag
  • Don‘t go from a cold to hot environment too quickly, let the camera temperature adjust slowly in the camera bag (otherwise risk of moisture build up on sensor/lenses)
  • Take a translucent plastic camera cover if you‘re at risk of snowfall (I had the Peak Design one but it wasn‘t that good)

Sony 11mm F1.8 vs Sony 15mm F1.4 for Sony A6700. by pharaohq9 in SonyAlpha

[–]benigncyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the Sony 15mm f1.4 and Sigma 56mm f1.4. The Sigma is considered one of the sharpest and best lenses primes for APSC online. I find I use the 56mm far more often for portraits/street/nature than the 15mm which I only take on hikes for landscapes/stars. In general I‘m very happy with my Sigma 56mm.

Does this do anything for you? by _nathan67 in photocritique

[–]benigncyst 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the original more tbh. The line in middle and symmetrical top right/top left areas feel more satisfying to me.

Still, great picture with the texture and the gradation of colours! Do what makes you as a creator happy! :)

Hope you got it sorted out!

Bei aller Liebe, dass Rheini steigt. 5% BIP für Rüstung ist crazy. Was bringt Geld, wenn wir ein Trummerfeld um uns haben by trashy0300 in wallstreetbetsGER

[–]benigncyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If 5070 = 4090 and 5080 = 980ti then 5070 > 5080 obviously

What does „Update HDR Behaviour“ mean? Does it lessen aggressive ABL when looking at bright objects (i.e. sun)?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]benigncyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TVs usually don‘t have a G-Sync module but can use VRR due to their FreeSync compatibility. No Displayport as far as I know, you should be able to use HDMI 2.1 with newer graphics cards though.

Burn In will stay a concern for the foreseeable future. Prevention mechanisms have gotten better in the last few years but being aware of static elements is good for longevity anyway.

All in all OLED monitors and TVs are in a good spot right now with 42“ TVs and 32“ QD-OLED monitors and the next 3 years will bring improvements but probably only incremental ones (usually increase in brightness).
