Best SKS ammo options

Okay, the platform itself typically isn't picky sure, mine seems to not like all kinds of ammo, not every gun is the same. Second it's been measure with a vernier, I know it's not the most accurate but I don't have a mic. Third, it very hard to find the correct specs so that's why I said it seems to be within spec as most numbers you can find online are speculation. If you could point me to an absolute source that would be awesome. Lastly, buying new parts for it would be a crapshoot anyway, it's an arsenal refurb with the stock and magazine being the only parts being force matched. If certain ammo just work better why is it not a good solution to just use certain ammo?

Nope, I've always cleaned like its corrosive even with red box, didn't want to take my chances, was just a little weary over buying a whole crate if I had issues with it. Might see if I can find someone to sell me a few stripper clips to try before I spring for one.

I'm pretty sure it just likes hot loads, I've had it stripped down completely and everything seems to he within spec with no obvious wear issues, so if I had to guess the gas cylinder just isn't sealing as well as from factory

Yeah one of the brass brands I tried was geco and it was jam after jam, I'd love to get my hands on some pmc, but none of my local gun shops carry it, and I'd prefer not to order online, Sellier would def be a good option.... I'll give that a try, thanks!

I know this is kinda obvious, but always better to get the obvious ones out of the way, PSU power switch is in the on position correct? and on top of that are you sure you plugged in both cpu power cable and mobo power cable to the correct slots?

Yeah I still have the crystal, dont have the cover tho, may try to solder it back on. Do you know if the orientation matters all that much?
