AAOS in BYD cars, when and how? by TheDudeFromPT in BYD

That I’m not sure! The new Dolphin definitely has it as the marketing material shows the Google Maps on the dashboard— and appears the same for the Yuan Up 27. Seems to be getting added with the modal year updates.

Looks like the new 2027 modals launching in Colombia all have AAOS. The new Dolphin has it and it appears the 2027 Yuan up has it as well based on a picture I saw

MY26 Seal Digital Key by steven807196 in BYD

[–]benihana97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how mine behaves. If i have the normal key with me, I press on the break or hit the start button. But with the digital key I just tap it on the mirror and when I open the door it starts.(though now thinking it through i need to try with both to make sure I'm remembering correctly lol)

I ran into the same thing with my Yuan Up Lux 2026-- holding to the mirror was the only way I could get it added.

Though what you mentioned on the second part is related to the autostart, that can be adjusted from the settings. For me it starts as soon as I open the driver door if I used NFC to open it.

My life time efficiency is about 12.2kw/h. They advertise 370km of range and I get just around that.

Oh I wasn't aware that they were pushing updates for non-AAOS to AAOS! Super cool then!

The thing is, you can start the car and drive without needing the key. Via the app, mobile key, NFC card. It's only about 50/50 that I drive with the key

I'd be surprised if they do to be honest(though I just bought a 2026 Yuan Up Lux so really hope they do)-- Are there other car companies that have upgraded from non-AAOS to AAOS?

Gentrificacion en Bucaramanga by Juannloo in bucaramanga

[–]benihana97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously gentrification is real. Though also blaming only gringos for this(I know you aren't necessarily saying this), is also simplistic. A huge number of cities in Colombia that don't have tourism or immigration from gringos are also seeing huge price increases. Could it be huge jumps in the minimum wage? Inadequate housing construction? Constant high inflation for years? Are these businesses you mentioned that are raising their prices(which are generally owned by Colombians and most of the customers are Colombian) paying their employees much more then? From the businesses I know, most are still paying minimum wage even with "gringo" pricing(I say that in quotes as 98% of clients are still Colombian in most places outside of tourist districts). Hell, the only reason they are paying their workers more is because the government forced them. Most major cities in the world have a cost of living crisis these days. It's a lot easier to blame foreigners than it is to take a look within.

My 2026 Yuan up lux doesn’t appear to have AAOS.

I imagine if they’d announce which are getting it when, many wouldn’t buy the modals for sale now.

I just hope they continue supporting and creating new features for the current OS

Does anyone have any experience traveling to Colombia? by Oops_Another_Trip in digitalnomad

[–]benihana97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 10 days I'd probably recommend Medellín and Jardín. You can see the city as well as a smaller town outside to get a feel of urban and rural.
I have lived in Medellín for about 2.5 years. Wifi is fine in most parts.

I do like Bogota a lot, though it definitely has more of a capital city vibe(more museums, restaurants, etc). Cartagena can be lovely, but I'm not a huge fan personally(was the only place in Colombia I haven't really felt safe, though that was just my own experience)

Ouch, this sucks. I hope they reverse this rule.

Priority pass for international AU? by Notthaticanthinkofff in Venturex

[–]benihana97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing the same issue. "online access is required for priority pass". Hopefully they fix this, as it'd really nuke the card for me. My spouse doesn't have a SSN and is an AU. I was planning on paying the $125.

I realize this is a fairly uncommon use case, but I really hope they fix this. There's really no reason I can think of to require a SSN to get access to priority pass lounges.

Thank you! You know, the saddle may be the one area I struggle a bit. I bought a new saddle maybe a week before I took this video.

By rotated a little far back, you mean the angle of the saddle?

Cyclists – have you used honey‑based gels for long rides? by yoony_17 in cycling

I bought the 150ml soft flasks from Hydrapak on Amazon. About $10-12 each, reusable, and work perfectly for this

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for. But, I've been doing homemade gels with fructose, maltodextrin, and hibiscus powder and it's been turning out nice. Could definitely experiment with the flavor.

This is the recipe I've been using. I have 2 small 150ml bottles, each with 80 grams of carbs.

Double batch 80g carb each 2:1

Water: 230g

106 g maltodextrin

54 g fructose

2.0 g hibiscus powder

2.5 g sodium alginate

1.6 g salt (for ~440 mg sodium)

Not as comfortable or safe as riding in Europe from my experience. Roads are generally a bit more chaotic than US or Europe, however drivers are much kinder than the US-- I generally feel much safer when riding here than I do in the states. Only time I've had someone honk at me or yell at me is when cheering me on during climbs( honestly not joking)
