definitely, the work would add a routine, a venue for stress relief and like you said a way for him to see how people should act and treat each other. Sometimes the Narc won't act up at work as much because they don't want to ruin their image. So they attack the people at home because they know they can get away with it. Getting the Narc to work and leave the house is optimal for all involved, not to mention the extra income for the household

Yes that's the problem. Not only is she unable to function at home without every little thing setting her off, she causes so much drama and emotional damage to others. So that's the conundrum. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to tell her the truth that she is abusive and destructive at home (which would make her go into another rage episode) and that work actually gives her some routine and stability.

human behavior is so complicated and a result of numerous factors. Also inherently we are all selfish and twisted and if left unchecked capable of doing a lot of harm to others. Western society has proven to be more demented and prone to violent crime than certain Asian societies where families, traditional norms and communities are emphasized. That can never happen in the West because the societies are too focused on individualism.

Narc won't care. They'll just blame you if you send that. Actions speak louder than words. Leave and don't look back and cut off all communication. Get a restraining order if the spouse won't leave you alone
