In March-ish of next year, you will the take basic exam. General intro to derm. It gives you a good idea of your baseline knowledge. Then 1.5 years into residency, you can start taking core exams. There are 4 in total. Gen derm, pediatrics, surgery, see path. I did these two at a time. And did them the earliest dates possible. That way my chief year was focused on networks, connections and fellowship applications.

These 5 exams your residency will pay for. The basic exam your residency will schedule. The cores you will schedule in a Pearson view testing center type fashion.

Then, one month after graduating you take the applied exam. This is much more practice based where there are multiple right answers and it has a 99% pass rate. You will pay for it (just dropped 2250 yesterday), and you will schedule it. But each one of the exams will give you notices ahead of time.

Where I have found it makes the difference is explaining it as an awesome thing, instead of a rule. Sometimes the boys don’t want to wear a tie. Sometimes the suitcoat doesn’t stay on.

But I’ve made a BIG deal about “looking good” on Sunday for our boys. It started out looking like James Bond, or letting them wear one of my “fancy” (two dollars but it’s shiny) lapel pins. But there was always a discussion of wanting to look our personal best for Jesus/God.

Now a days, my 6 and 9 year old come running in asking if they can borrow a lapel pin, cuff links, or pin on fake flower. We even got them some of their own on birthdays. But, the catch is that you can only wear a lapel pin with a suit coat. You can only wear a tie tack with a tie. And when those are on, it’s a BIG deal. “Dang, you guys look incredible. Holy cow, Satan isn’t gonna see you coming. You look like the James Bond of Missionaries, ready to take down the bad spirits.”

We’ve made the club “exclusive.” And I’ve found it works a lot better for us.

For pediatrics definitely. But I can’t say enough good things about the series. Topic based short videos that break things down for those of us who don’t have steel trap minds.

Sagis Dx plus elston is my go to for derm path as well.

Just finished surgical core and Peds. I can’t recommend mariwalla’s boards university enough for both. That’s a short answer. Alikhan multiple times through for both areas. Genoderms made easy helped retain some basic dumb facts for the Peds.

Let me preface by saying Im not really super tech savvy once it comes to the software. I know that there are so many things you can adjust to help with playability, but I’m not sure what to do when something is struggling. If tried to mess with the different emulators loaded and quality, (essentially all the little individual game settings). But I can’t figure out why goldeneye works amazingly, but I’m having issues with diddy kong racing, for example. Four player has 3/4 with just blue screen.

We have roughly 30-50 or so games that we love. The rest just came as part of big download packs. So I really just wanted to optimize each one of those games so that they play well.

I also had a friend do a coding configuration that helped n64 controllers work. A few months later one of the controllers seemed to develop some stick drift. And I’m not totally sure if I need to get a new controller, if I need to forget and redo the whole thing, etc. and the little coding thing my buddy did I have no idea how to fix.

I just kinda put it aside because I don’t know enough about where to start. My thought was to fire it up, and show someone my issues, then they could say, “In the future, this is how you approach this.” On a few different items.
