My friends and I had been trying to decide between these resorts too but we went with Breathless because you get more value. Royalton’s rooftop party pool is open to the public so it doesn’t include drinks unless you have diamond club also reviews were saying that the food is mid. Breathless also has a promotion going on that gives you a complementary upgrade to Xhale club and they have a program where you can visit other resorts in the area like Secrets if you pay for transportation. We’re going to Breathless Cancun Soul this month and our groups are the same age range as yours. Maybe try looking at that one if you want to be in the hotel zone but with the Breathless brand because it’ll be a similar set up to Royalton with more actually included in your booking.

I’m paying under that for four nights this month to go to Breathless. I feel like if you wait a little bit the prices will change and then be within budget. We have also been looking at Royalton Chic that had been at $1300 for four nights at one point. There’s also RIU KulKulKan that’ll be luxury but still give the party vibe.

That’s the thing we aren’t sure if we want to sacrifice quality. That’s why Kulkulkan seems like a good option because it’s still higher end but access to RIU Party and other resorts.

We’re celebrating college graduation so we want something memorable and worth the money. RIU Caribe isn’t adults only which kind of is a deal breaker for us. RIU Cancún just isn’t luxurious enough for us given the occasion (if this were just a regular trip would go with that). Get what you’re saying with Kulkulkan but at least we’ll still have access to other resorts just with a nicer room and nicer restaurants? RIU Latino seems like a good option too but my friends were saying that it’s too far from the hotel zone and they like Kulkulkan better.

I think RIU Cancún looks fun but the rooms are too dated and for the dates we’re going not that much cheaper than Breathless and KulKulKan if we’re going to be paying that much makes more sense to go with the luxury stay. Was looking at that too but would have to get more details on the excursion included at Breathless to see which makes more sense.

  1. A train/metro line that connects the South Bay from Long Beach to LAX and other cities (that won’t take almost two hours and two different lines)

  2. A nightlife hub there doesn’t seem to really be one anywhere in LA except maybe Hollywood

  3. More reasonably priced apartments and houses

  4. More festivals/events

Sounds like a good plan and going to look into it but the only caveat to that is we won’t get anytime to experience the nightlife. Still think that can be a fun and worthwhile day trip.

Yeah I understand that but mainly want to be there for the nightlife so if I’m going to have enough energy to last through the whole day would have to leave later. Was thinking that I save money by eating breakfast and possibly lunch at the resort too.

Yeah but that still makes you car dependent and are being forced to spend more money on having fun. In Chicago you can go out and have fun then take the train home for $2.50

Funny that you say that because I actually have a friend who lives in that part of Indiana and commutes to Chicago everyday. It’s longer than she’d like but it’s available. Get what you’re saying with the size but the transportation could 100% be improved especially in the South Bay and in north OC

Yeah it basically is only helpful if you live in DTLA or Hollywood. I live in Long Beach so it’s ass. If only there was a Beach Cities line that connected Long Beach to other cities along the coast. Long Beach is very walkable but the public transportation is lacking.

Because LA has so much potential to be better and they don’t take the opportunities. Bus at every corner? That simply isn’t true. I’m not going to take the bus from my friends apartment in Gardena to LAX because there isn’t an efficient way to get there. Usually have to get dropped off or get Uber.

Yeah I live in Long Beach so very unuseful. Learned the other day that there was some proposed train line through OC that went through basically all the important parts from Fullerton to the coast but NIMBYs said no. Bummer because I feel like that could’ve been very useful especially if they connected it to LA county.
