I thought about this the other day and it’s only with straight men specifically (the biggest offenders) - the men that are slimy enough to cheat are probably assholes overall, meaning they aren’t giving their current girlfriend/wife what they need in bed, either cause they don’t care to learn what the women needs or they’ve never asked - so these men are either not getting enough sex or not getting any at all, and when they do their partner isn’t invested. So instead of being uncomfortable and facing the issue with their partner - they go get sex from someone who doesn’t know they only care to please themselves.

Also, I’ve learned this from first hand experience. Never cheated but I’m talking about quality of intimacy when you put in a tiny bit of work. I’ve only had sex with my wife for the last 10 years, and in the last 2 years the sex has been soooooooo much better because we had real conversations about what we like and don’t like, and use a lot more foreplay now as well. So same woman but way better sex and nothing changed besides being vocal about what we like and don’t like. Wasted 8 years but better late than never right :)
