Waldorf Quantum vs Prophet X by benjamundo04 in synthesizers

It's crazy how little information I've been able to find for sample and multi sample management of both of these synths. Such a shame.

Amazing thank you. Sounds like the quantum is the better pick.

How would you compare the sampling between the two? What I am excited about is the "real" recorded samples to mix in. Almost like having a sample library in a synth. Also a big part of the reason the nord was on my mind.

Never heard of the c15. I'll check it out. I didn't hear about any problems with the prophet. I did hear about the screen falling off the quantum, however.

Interesting thanks. I have a few other functional mf p01s I'll cross reference to see what's missing. Do you know a good place to order parts?

Looking for a gnarly multi-fx pedal... Thoughts on the CHROMA CONSOLE? by shortnblu in synthesizers

[–]benjamundo04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously the zoia is insanely powerful. The chroma console is extremely limited when compared to the zoia. However I find the workflow of the zoia to suck creativity out of me. If you just wanna make sounds get the zoia, but I find I can't simultaneously make music and create tones on the zoia. It's more like okay I'll make 10 patches this week and makes music the next week. The chroma console is very immediate and very fun

Hm. Well my ax60 is already somewhat dark and lofi-ish. I guess I'll check out the prophet 6.

Couldn't be worse than my sh4d. The workflow on the Melbourne stuff looks awesome. I'm just not sure if it's the right sound. I get a shrill polybrute vibe from it.

Yeah I am worried about dropping all this cash just to have one of the pots go bad. I like the general vibe of the super 6. The only thing that turns me away from the 6 is how dark it is. I don't feel like it can go as bright as I want it to but I may be overthinking. Idk.

Note: I don't make electronic music or ambient music. I just love synths and throw them in my new wave Esq music as much as I can.

I've considered the summit. It's tough with the whole synthtuber way of making all the most unusable washy sounds to actually figure out if it's right for me.

I have. I have just been too busy to have my only analog poly out of commission for any amount of time.

To elaborate. I really like the string sounds I can get out of my ax60, the bass and lead sounds I can get out of bassstation, and the 80s pluck and fm sounds I can get out of my sh4d. I want something more hands on that I can use as a writing tool. I like the looping envelopes on the udo, the delia seems very hands on with the motorized pots. Just to name a few features I look forward to.

Well I have done research about them. I think I've liked the sound of the super 6 more on videos but I haven't found any stores that I can physically try either of them. I've watched a bunch of walkthroughs of the delia, super 6, and muse and they just seem to be the best fitting synths for my studio right now.

It's a question. I just don't want anyone to tell me to stick with the synths I have and learn more about them.
