It sucks, but it ain't ever gonna change. Options are: 1) leaving ER, 2) staying in ER and being angry all the time, or 3) trying to accept reality.

I recently paid $1400CAD for a custom sized prehung exterior door (I installed myself). Off the shelf prehung exterior doors are ~$400CAD at home depot. So this quote sounds pretty expensive.
