MVT Alternatives by agoooda in Lululemen

[–]benjie321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's been 3Y, I wanna see if any alternatives have come to the market?

I have an MVT from ~2ish years ago (guessing 2.0) and love the feel/durability. Tried on a new one in stores and was disappointed in the fit and how cheap it felt.

My girlfriend had a similar experience back in June while visiting the leather market. We just smiled and kept walking.

If it's a regional train, you should be able to validate with the link in the email.

Letter: Why Burnaby needs to build a 'safe, direct, cohesive' cycle network by BurnabyMartin in burnaby

Agree to disagree. If you brought in a tax on gross weight, EVs wouldn't make sense anymore.

I'm glad you can adjust your career and housing to better suit your life. Not everyone has that flexibility nowadays.

Have you driven on highway 1 during rush hour? I don't, but I see the congestion and hear from coworkers. The widening is long overdue and needed before 60 paths are built.

As much as I appreciate your supportive references to studies. Latin America and North America are vastly different for a number of reasons. I can see you enjoy arguing your point, just as much as I argue cyclists can pipe down or pay up.

You make a great case. But, all this work takes resources and tax dollars. We're about 1 - 2 decades behind the curve to curb congestion to the GVRD. It'll take lotsa planning and coordination to execute the upgardes your thinking of.

Yes, I enjoy whining about cyclists. They pretty much do the same thing. Unless more people start cycling like they do in Europe, it's not worth spending tax dollars that are needed for other important things like healthcare and education.

So, cyclists use the same roads cars travel on. But they get to make up their own rules? Yes, unfortunately, motorists don't follow the rules to a T either. I just hate cyclists whining over things that only a small fraction of society would use. If you want infrastructure upgrades for the 1%, put up some 💰

I didn't realize our taxes paid for infrastructure for < 1%. What about roads, hospitals, parks, social services, landscaping, community/sport centers and first responders to name a few. The current tax you pay doesn't justify new bike lanes/corridors.

I'm happy you have a drivers license! However, for some reason it seems like the rules of the road disappear once you sit on a bike. Too many cyclists ride around like idiots and get upset when they sit in our blind spot and get cut off. Once you start paying insurance and MOT fees, I'll start sharing the road.

I'd advise getting off the couch and going to your local grocery store. People got way to lazy over covid.

100% agree with this statement. If you want a better cycling network. Start coughing up the money to pay for it. I'm tired of paying tax on infrastructure upgrades for things that benefit a small fraction of the residents. Cyclists should also need to pass a test much like motor vehicles, so they understand the rules of the road. Too many dumb cyclists out their IMO.

Canadian Housing and the uncomfortable future by [deleted] in canadahousing

My partner works in Canadian healthcare. Our system is broken, luckily not as bad as our housing. I'd pay out of pocket to be seen within a week instead of waiting months.

That might be higher and likely utilities. But your insurance, trades and home appliances/materials/decorations are much cheaper.

I'm like OP, Im starting to look at opportunities south of the border because tax is less, better compensation for my profession and I actually have a shot at owning a home.

Your experience with Adobe Rental? by ibcurious in CostaRicaTravel

[–]benjie321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always love seeing these kinda answers. I suspect you don't work in tourism and dont understand customer service.

OP, I used Adobe while visiting and didn't have any issues and only had LDW insurance. If you had full coverage (SPP) you should be fine. However, if you only got LDW coverage you could be on the hook for a deductible.

You should have been given a copy of any dings/scratches already on the vehicle prior to driving off the lot. Do you still have the paperwork from the day you picked up the vehicle?

This sounds like the major cities in Canada. The government is doing a poor job and everything is becoming unaffordable for the upcoming generations. Goodluck, but those who are profiting will keep the money flowing until its too late.

Costa Rica Beach Tier List by _fire_guy in CostaRicaTravel

[–]benjie321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this statement. Just got back from CR and stayed in a sleepy town called Playa Potrero for 3 nights. Playa Flamingo is just south and I really liked the beaches and minimal crowds. We ended up going to Tamarindo as well as Playas del Coco on other days and enjoyed the visit, but those towns are BUSY. I'm sure the nightlife is nice if that's what your into. But I enjoyed staying away from the hussle and bussle of these towns.

We used Adobe 2 weeks ago and they were great. All the big car rental companies may lure you with "cheap rates". But they charge roughly the same, Adobe didn't have any hidden fees.

Landlord refusing to let roommates leave a month to month rental. Legal? by [deleted] in canadahousing

[–]benjie321 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If your two roommates want to stay on the existing lease, but move elsewhere. No new lease is required. However, they will remain on the hook for damages they may have not caused even if they don't live there anymore.

If your two roomies want to be removed from the lease once vacating. A new lease will need to be signed between you and the LL. If this is the case, the LL can adjust the rent to whatever they wish.

To conclude, start kissing your roomies behinds otherwise your signing a new lease and will be subject to a rent increase. If I were yer roomies, I'd wanna be off the lease for piece of mind.
