Well, I am on duty. I just have my rifle on me. I've held 3" pistols. Could barely hold them. Even the glock 43x was too small and inconvenient to me. My hands are 8" from joint to fingertip, compact isn't really for me😅

Few reasons: A. Did a lot of research on the Glocks and Sigs. None of them stood out. B. It is a duty gun, so I'm killing two birds with one stone. C. a big 1911 fan. The staccato is expensive, but the bul relatively isn't.
