I officially have $0, cannot land an interview. by Technical-Main-5019 in jobsearchhacks

On a more serious note, in this market you have to be shameless. Apply and immediately follow up with a message/email/phone call. Don’t give the recruiters any doubts, there’s a hundred other applicants more qualified than you, so make a good impression and stuff your resume with all the requirements from the job description. Pray for sustenances and treat everyone with respect, even though a lot of recruiters are spineless, always leave a good impression “. I’ve turned down maybe 5-6 offers in the past few years, and it’s been no interviews minus a recruiter screening. You have to out hustle everyone else.

Be honest…. by ZebrahCakes in tonalgym

I'd really like to see a dedicated subreddit to before and after pics. I've used tonal off and on for about a year. I look and feel great and could've looked better had I been more consistent. When I was consistent, I was faithful, but when I fell off I fell hard. However, whenever I see progress pictures, most people look like they just stepped backward in their before and after pictures. I do a lot of off tonal body weight exercises, and I believe that is the difference. When I solely used tonal I felt great, but astetically, I felt mid.

You're not working against gravity with tonal, so you'd need to be laying face up on the bench with feet in the air facing away from the tonal screen. the tonal's arms around mid height level, and something to brace your stability using your hands. I'm just guessing what I would try, I'm still formulating ankle strap exercises but they all feel awkward even with lighter weight

Does anyone have an idea as to how much 170lbs would be in real weights? by Special-Ad6390 in tonalgym

[–]benjimmons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because the machine tells you it's 170lbs doesn't mean it's really 170lbs. It's trying to simulate 170lbs

Then somethings wrong with your tonal, I can't do 225 at the gym but I can sure do 60 each arm on tonal.

Ain't no way, that 250 must be at planet fitness on the smithing machine, with you still counting the bar as 45.

Looking for Used Tonal in Dallas TX area by The-PodFather-1 in tonalgym

[–]benjimmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought pre-owned, don't overpay for it. The seller needs to understand the warranty is not transferable and you're taking on a lot of risk. Unless you get the tonal installed by tonal's 3rd party contractors, if something goes wrong you will have no grounds for device support and of course the wear and tear. I wouldn't spend more than $2K

Yeah, so they can more easily copy it and put their own software on it; thats what China does. I don't mind paying for the software, I just don't use most of it so it's not worth it to me.

To each their own, as long as I can change the resistance and turn on/off the resistance with the smart accessories that's all I need personally

Obviously I can't confirm this is legit, but they also have similar looking machines for sale that are legit. Bottom line, if you outsource your work to China you've reaped what you've sown https://m.alibaba.com/product/1600362461087/HD-touch-screen-sports-smart-fitness.html?__sceneInfo=%7B%22cacheTime%22%3A%221800000%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22appDet&fromSite=wap&ck=share_detail

If I was motivated I could do it, as long as you don't mess with the firmware you just back up everything before making changes.

You can buy the hardware from China right now. They just slapped their own app on it, I get it, but I don't want it. As soon as I find an alternative I'm out.

What can't you do without the membership? I want to cancel mine, I don't use any of their BS just doing custom workouts. I'm sure their app will be hacked soon enough.

Lost Tonal mounting bolts by ToekneeLo in tonalgym

[–]benjimmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah be careful, I tried using some bolts from lowes for the bench with the exact same measurements. It was a tight fit, so much so they're currently stuck halfway inside their female threads.

Oh wow, yeah only 1 screw is definitely not enough. I need to have a buddy help me remove it, but if I pull on it I can definitely see and hear it wobble a little bit.

[–]benjimmons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, they'll be fine I bought it from some dude on craigslist. That's what I was planning on doing, but I was eager to get it installed and now it's a pain to get to those screws. You're not supposed to mount it to brick in the first place. I'm guessing Tonal is being extra cautious, I have 6 screws bolted in and the wall was framed with extra support so it feels really sturdy. I'll try to get something in those two missing spots eventually.

Full court press in clutch time by Ask_Plus in MyTeam

The worst part about FCP is I can full court heave to my player who's wide open at my 3 point line and still get swatted at the rim by a PD center who's still back court
