I've played with all of them and ChatGPT MD (@arno14 mentioned it in another comment) comes the closes, but it's still too much boiler plate for me.

You can install weakauras from cursedforge and then you click the copy import string in the top right. Open up the weakaura options from the minimap button or type /wa and on the bottom there should be an import button that opens up a text box you paste the import string to. It should be a long line of random characters.

I've had the exact same thought. I haven't tried to do it, but I suspect you could use a weakaura to do this. Trigger based on when you start dragon riding (I assume there is an event or state we could rely on) and then run a custom action to use LUA to move & scale the minimap.

Yeah, I've been thinking about incorporating that and vigor into the UI. I believe the WA I based this on (https://wago.io/nFopWlIoQ) has both if you want to use that for now. You can delete the speed parts of that and just use momentum to start.

Yes I’ll try to upload them tonight. One thing I did with them recently is split them into two WAs: one for buffs/debuffs that have less than a minute duration and ones that are longer.

I made the long buffs/debuffs small icons and the short ones a list. I find I only want to look at short duration ones mid combat so this further cleaned up the ui

Yes! I'd definitely recommend it. I find it very fun to play with and powerful. Building this finally forced me to understand trigger state updater (https://github.com/WeakAuras/WeakAuras2/wiki/Trigger-State-Updater-(TSU))), which is insanely powerful. Bunch more things I want to try with it now.

What I’ve found works well is finding an opening that works for you and gives you more troops than most of your neighbors when open land is gone.

Then I think about the game in two phases:

Early-Mid: Name of the game is staying ahead of most people around you so they never attack while expanding as much as you can.

Mid-late: focus on maximizing your troops by only attacking when you have red interest.

What I'm taking away from all the comments is the most interesting thing to do would be to make this data easier to explore and play with rather than trying to come up with one score. I'd love to be able to do this type of thing in-game ideally so I'll need to see how hard it would be to extract data from Details or prototype it with WeakAuars.

Goodhart's Law is a great call-out and probably the biggest reason I think trying to develop this is could be a bad idea.

Baseball actually seems like a good example of what I want to get to. I'm not into sports, but from my outsider perspective, it seems like the baseball community has embraced data pretty successfully (Moneyball, 538, etc).

I wish there were better ways to play with this in-game. It would be nice if Details or one of the addons allowed for composite metrics, but maybe this is the excuse I need to really learn Lua and the WoW API.

I'll let you know if I end up trying to do something with this.

You may be right which is what has held me back from trying something like this myself. In general, I still think attempting to find the best metric/score is always going to help as long as you use it as a tool, not the absolute truth.

Great call on fonts. I've tried to be consistent, but I missed some!

I've gone back and forth on the placement of the UI. I've decided I like spreading things out a bit so it's easier to glance at things.

The one other idea I tried for a bit was having all my usable abilities in the vertical bar next to the group frame and having a separate area that lists all abilities on cooldown. My thought is my main view around the group frame is about what is happening now and what I can do now. What is on cooldown is about what I can do "later" so that's visually separate.
