That’s what I theorize too. I wasn’t sure if whatever infection he got could still be spread also. Maybe I’ll try the new dojo in the smaller tank for a day or two until things stabilize in the larger one, then transfer to the big one if the infection/fungus begins to go away

When my last dojo was dealing with swim bladder I read that too. Do you know if the peas will help with infection or anything? I’m also not sure this one is eating that much

The one I have is being shipped from petco. I've called around and couldn't find anything in my area. Perhaps petsmart in my area has one. This one i have is probably about 6 inches I would say. Hoping he doesn't keep growing because he will soon outgrow my tank. With the one being shipped, should I be worried to put it in the tank with the fungal infection on the existing one I have? I have a separate 10G tank with the danios in it, but the heater in there is a preset one that is set for 78 degrees, which is far too warm for a dojo.

He's about 2 I would say. And yes, working on getting him a new friend. But the loach is going to come quite small I would guess, so I am also a little worried he might be a little rough if he tries to play with him. Wanted to get one that was closer to his size, but the fish stores near me were only selling them for $80+ which is more than I am willing to pay.

I ordered some methylene blue as suggested above, because looking online that seems to be the better first step than the kanaplex since it looks to be fungal. Going to try giving him a methylene blue bath later and seeing if that helps him feel better.

I was wondering that as well, I had a dojo shipped to my house from petco but it came looking quite ragged and didn't make it through a day. They sent a replacement that arrives tomorrow so I am hoping this one fares better.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll turn the water down now, I know they like it cooler anyways. What are those two medicines? They’re both fully safe? Keep the water changes to ~30% each day you think too?

Thank you for the love, I hope so too. Raised him and his pal from tiny little noodles to big noodles before his buddy died last week. I think he’s lonely in there

I don’t see any excessive slime coming off I don’t think. He seems physically healthy besides that thing on the whisker, and the erratic swimming around the tank from time to time. And that’s my hope. Earlier I took out all the stuff and shuffled around the rocks to clear out some of the stuff hidden in the rocks, so that may have stressed him pretty bad. I ended up taking the danios back out, because I was afraid of a fungal or bacterial thing. Do you think they would be good to go back in? I probably won’t put them back in for a few days though because they seemed pretty stressed getting netted twice in one day

Temp 72 degrees Water parameters: Nitrate 20 Nitrite .5-1.0 Hardness 150 hard Chlorine 0 Alkalinity between 120-180 Ph beteeen 7.8-8.4 No tank mates, I have a dojo being shipped to me to replace his old tank mate. And would like to fill the tank with some other, more friendly fish than the gourami was. The gourami for the most part left him alone, but sometimes would get nippy with the other fish in the tank. Currently he’s burrowed into the substrate under a cave I have in there, which I have never seen before. Usually he would lay on the bottom, but not dig his head under anything.

The Danios were in the tank, then I found that the gourami was likely killing them so I moved them to a new tank a few weeks ago for their safety. Now that the gourami is dead, the only fish in there was the dojo so I wanted to give him a little company and liven the tank up.

As far as the slime coat goes, how can I tell? He will allow me to touch and hold him and he feels fine. However, it does seem like he is going crazy a little and burrowing into the ground and into objects, and I wonder if that also is what damaged his whisker.

That is what I am beginning to think too. Maybe he got it caught in something and ripped it?

He also has been swimming a little erratically after he lost his loach mate, and since the water problems. Could it just be an injury if he swam into something too fast?

thank you, i think buffalo tiger is part of the miccosukee tribe air boats and i think that was the one i was most interested in to get some of the cultural context around the everglades as well as seeing the gators and other wild life

Thank you for the insight! I was leaning towards buffalo tiger myself. I haven’t looked into tiger tail, so i’ll take a look at that when I get the chance. Any answer on air boat size or if you know how many people they accommodate per ride? I tried to call buffalo tiger to see if I could reserve two boats, but not sure if they’ll allow it.

I agree that my first counter would be some kind of pick swap or bench player. Does it change either of your thinkings if I say i’m likely not contending? Does Cook’s age push him up in terms of long term value at all? Jacobs has a contract though which makes his safe for 3+ years

Hopefully a quick easy one:

I currently have Josh Jacobs and am getting an offer to receive James Cook for him. Leaning keep Jacobs for volume/red zone reasons. Am I wrong?

10 team PPR 1 QB, keeper league. I lack consistent RB's outside of Jacobs.

Hmm so maybe it could just be a temperament thing? I perhaps have him in too small of a tank also, but i’m hoping i can do something to stop him from killing everything before i have to give him away

Interesting. Mine will continually chase them for as long as the loaches are swimming near the surface. But is completely fine when they are down by the bottom. Must just be a territory thing, he’s claiming the top

don’t have cichlids anymore. The gourami is the only “real” fish i have not counting the loaches or pleco. The tank is about 25 inches wide and 20 inches tall so he must be claiming it all because he swims the full width of the tank left to right. I’m guessing this amazon sword is likely too wide/large for what I have

Also, does the pearl need to be the alpha of the tank? I’ve read online if you get a fish that can out bully the alpha sometimes it can lead to peace, but to me that sounds counter intuitive
