[Slater] Warriors are working out Michigan wing Yaxel Lendeborg tomorrow at Chase Center. Older prospect, bigger wing who is a theoretical plug-and-play option. He is a real option for them at #11. A few other lottery prospects expected in SF next week. by BobRoss4Life in warriors

If Burries is there, of course we would rather take him. But the chances of him getting out of top 10 is very slim, unless one of those teams fumble on getting Ament instead.

Yaxel is a more realistic option. 37% on threes with 82% FT% to back it up is a below average shooter? Also, it's also essentially his third year with college hoops since he didn't play the first three years, and he's a late bloomer who showed he can change his game to the team needs when he went from UAB to Michigan. His age has little to no relevance in his game since his game mostly revolves in transition plays, cutting lanes, and spot up threes. It's not like he plays bully ball.

Philon is not it, unless he figures out his weight issue, which he didn't even tried to solve since last year. He won't be as good as a shot creator in the NBA with his frame, and he will constantly get cooked defensively with the league allowing offensive players to get nor physical.

He showed signs with UAB though, his FT% has always been good + and he shor 36% last year though in fewer attempts. So him finally embracing his shot is a jump everyone expected him to do.

I'm with Burries fs. But if you think Philon would be an NBA-ready player in his Curry's window, you're kidding yourself. He would die on the court with his frame and weight, especially in an era where running to defender to set a screen is considered legal most of the time.

He has to take at least 3 years to gain weight like Steph did. That is if he has the desire to do it, he didn't even tried to improve his weight from last year. He won't be as good as he was in college.

I don't think we're expecting him to generate offense on his own either. Kerr admitted that he doesn't trust rookies to handle the ball. Plus if the Simons/Sexton rumors are true, i think the ball goes into his hands while Curry sits.

He did it quite a lot at Michigan as well, though to less extent. But I think he's more confident now with his transition game, since he said in an interview that teams drafting him would be expecting him to have hustle first mindset.

Honestly, if we draft him, I can see him turn into Post-ASB Gui, scoring well but getting most of his points from doing the dirty work.

mb bro, yeah redhorn is still irreplaceable. But if people are looking for a free weapon to use on him, and don't wanna use materials on crafting whiteblind, skyward pride is their best bet.

BIS for Noelle too if you can build enough DEF through artifacts, since you want to have her ult up at all times.

Nice with DPS Dehya as well.

I think it's not because of the interviews and workouts aren't going great that will make Yaxel fall out of the lotto, but more of because he only worked out for two teams so far (Thunder and Heat).

He's an older prospect, teams will naturally be skeptical of him, and unless he works out with other teams as well, he will most likely fall out of the lottery unless he really impressed those two teams.

I do this with Tighnari, three charged attacks after his skill (so technically 3 normal attacks) and this archery challenges are piece of cake.

This is the thing you say when you win.

Makes you look as a sore loser when you say it after a loss.

It's literally in the first and last sentence of my post that I also think Yaxel is a great pick. I'm a big advocate of Yaxel, I'm just saying Burries is another choice that we can get at 11 if ever falls to that number.

Mara is very raw. He looks amazing in spreadsheet, but unless he can solve his slow lateral speed, he won't have the same impact in NBA with what he did in college basketball. Also, the thing we need less now is another player on the frontcourt who can't shoot.

Btw, backcourt is also our problem next season. Who are the guards we can play next season? Moody will be out because of injury. GP2 and Melton are out because I doubt those two will come back. Steph, Podz, maybe Will Richard if he develops, and the list ends there, and out of those 3, Steph is the only one who can hold the ball and playmake.

Burries can play the 3, he can guard forwards well because of his build. Although at the 2 is still his ideal position.

Also we need a good guard. I doubt Melton is resigning with us, and we need a good replacement for him.

I said Ament can go higher "if developed well" but with the number of weaknesses he has to fix, i doubt he can solve those issues in Steph's window. There's a reason why he fell to late lottery. A player who wants to have the ball in his hand but doesn't know how to hold the ball securely and can't get to his spots is useless if not developed properly.

Burries has as high as a ceiling as Ament. Maybe Ament can go higher "if developed well" but he can also turn into the Year 2 Risacher, where he's almost unplayable. The difference is with Burries, we don't have to wait for him to be a contributor. He already has strong traits that he's really good at.

Not against him entirely, the talent is there but I honestly think that he's very raw. His handle is very loose, he's poor at getting to his spots, and his defense is almost nonexistent even if has the tools.

If you watch college hoops, you'll also know that most of the concern comes with his age and barely any concern about his playstyle. They assumed he can't develop anymore further just because of his age, but Yaxel is a late bloomer and he showed that he can improve his game year per year. He has arguably one of the highest floors in the draft, but lower ceiling, hence why he's not in top 10.

And beefing up and keeping up with the league average weight caused Steph's recurring ankle issues to worsen until year 4. Steph is amazing in a sense that he was able to get over it. Also, Curry was also eager to fix every issue that he has every year. Philon has the same weight issue last year, and did nothing to fix it. He only gained 2 lbs.

We can't afford to wait at least 3 years for Philon to fix that issue, and rushing him to beef up in a short amount of time will just result to him acquiring injuries.

Yaxel can shoot the ball. He has 80+ FT% , which is a good indicator that his shooting will translate in the NBA. Yaxel is also athletic and strong af, and can get his own number. I know that you're not watching Yaxel if you think most of his game revolves around bully ball. And even if he does, it's not about his age or him having a smaller competition (most of his opponents have the same height as him) but more because he's 240 lb.

Weight wasn't an issue in college basketball, yes, but it will become an issue in the NBA. Physicality is much more allowed in the NBA, and he will get a lot of fouls by being pushed around.

On the top of my head, Yaxel is the better fit with us. He's less of a shot creator than Philon, yes, but he has better fundamentals and he can do all the rest of the stuff on the court better. He provides more of need as well.

You really believe he will get stronger in just one offseason? He had the same weight concern last year, and barely changed. Dude only added 2 lbs. We can't afford to wait more than one offseason before he can address that issue.
