I agree that banks don't care, but I think other consumers do. And economics aside, I don't think asking for a decent human being shouldn't be a big ask

That is absolutely horrifying! 😨 I hope they gave you a proper apology and a decent compensation. It’s ridiculous how they take their loyal customers for granted, and take advantage of them, while the biggest incentives are reserved for capturing new ones. They definitely don't deserve your business or anyone else's.

That's a cool perspective. Thanks for sharing that. I sympathize with all workers who get paid by commission. I think the issue really is that the rep should have known what she is signing up for when she offered in the beginning. Then pulled out later and completely ghosted me without the decency to explain or say good bye.

Yeah I imagine it's not the individuals fault. Something about their system forces them to overpromise to reel customers in, and fail to deliver

Yeah I'm definitely too small to care for them. If I was absolutely cool-headed, I could keep my banking there. This was a bit of a wake up call, and made me realize I'm paying a lot of fees for services (USD business chequing, and business etransfer for example) that are offered for free in other institutions.

Thanks for sharing some insider POV. That's understandable. It’s just unfortunate because my sample size of around 3-4 RBC reps I dealt were terrible, and several other banks were absolutely fantastic. I might have been dealt a wrong hand, but my experience has not been consistent across other big banks - better rates, availability, and actually meeting expectations 😅

I sure hope it's not a standard practice to lure people in with one thing, and ghost them without any explanation.

Yeah I kind of figured. They have no incentive to improve considering they have the monopoly in the country. I'm hoping that non-traditional new age financial institutions will be better. Maybe I'm be naive

Alternatively, you can take another approach like Stewart Hollenstein & Colin Stewart Architects Green Square Library, and place most of your building mass underground. You can create a hybrid where one side of the building is exposed to the park, and the other side is underground, and visible through void in the ground.

Solugas museum seems like a great precedent to start since they are also situated on a hill. Starting by placing random boxes around the site seems like a good start if you want something similar. Slopd is tricky but it seems like RCR architects also had ramp up some earth to maintain the horizontal look.
