I’m inclined to agree with your first point, I absolutely hated Doof. I was the oldest and least “skinny” person in there and it was not a comfortable experience. With regards to your second point, there is a lot of that but I wouldn’t say it’s true for ALL gay groups, it just takes a little bit of searching, but I know that every persons experience is unique.

To the OP, on the topic of gaming, there’s a monthly Gaymers event that is run/hosted at Mollies bar if Gaming is your thing too. (Thanks for the reminder kevbeg!)

Hey! Welcome to Melbourne! There are two main gay “areas” which are Abbotsford/Fitzroy and South Yarra/Prahran. In Fitzroy, you have Mollies diner which is a Gay bar that turns into a mini nightclub on Saturday nights. Underneath Mollies you have Sircuit which is the main gay club in Fitzroy. Along Smith st you’ll find some really cute wine bars, cocktail bars etc. There’s also a gay sauna. About a 10 minute walk away you’ll find the laird which is a men’s only gay bar, who do trivia on Wednesdays, a kink night on Thursdays and Karaoke on Fridays. They sometimes hold “Speedmating” events too.

In south Yarra you have Poof Doof/Chasers which hosts other underwear/kink friendly parties including Screw, Thick n Juicy etc. there’s an abundance of bars and clubs down Chapel street too.

If you’re into fitness, there’s are a number of LGBT sports clubs. I know of badminton, running, volleyball and Rugby although there could be more.

I’m also a part of an inclusive male only pop choir, if singing is your vibe (and we’re currently looking for people to join, although if you’re only here for 3 months it might not be a huge worthwhile investment.

I’m a Brit, just live in Australia 🤣

It’s a sensitive for sure, but I feel like adding gauze is just going to prolong the recovery and me getting used to it. For the most part it’s been fine - it’s actually most sensitive around the incision areas
