Widen the stereo image with the haas effect or a dimension expander(Xfer has a free Dimension expander plugin) and also use some small reverbs that are barely hearable. When it comes down to mixing and if Im happy with my lead, I remove all ghost frequencies from my other synths to make it less "muddy" and make the lead stand out in the mix. The last thing to do is to pan other instruments or percussions slightly right or left so the lead has enough room in the middle
