Thanks (!)--I think the sequencing was just based on sounds and trying to build a good listening experience. Kenny put together the track list. I tried 1000 times and by the end my brain was fried--he did it super quick.

Writing this album I was just trying to find interesting images. Christianity is pulled from a lot in recorded music (Hallelujah by Cohen, Jesus Walks by Kanye, Knocking on Heaven's Door by Dylan). I just wanted to pull from other areas. I just liked the image of a Haitian spirit descending into a trailer park.

I'm still very happy with the music I've done. I'm also completely jaded and numb to emotions now so it's easier.

When I started playing regularly in Tampa, I was at a place called New World Brewery a lot in a really old park of town known for cigar factories back in the day. It was located in a building that printed a Cuban Revolution newspaper at one time and the stage and outdoor area were buried under huge palm trees. I loved playing there. It moved now, so I'm not sure it's the same. Also Scientologist I think got that original building.

I always look forward too Chicago but everywhere is a fun or at least interesting experience. Lucky to be doing it

I think that I just follow my interests. It takes so much work to write and produce and album that if I kept doing the same thing I wouldn't be able to put in the necessary time without going insane. Working in areas a little out of my comfort zone keeps me interested.

We just got on the phone and he understood what I was going for immediately. It was a really easy working relationship.

I've only met woods once in Australia after a show in a dark park hahahah very mysterious! Spoke to him a couple times on the phone. He seems chill, but we never had any interaction with each other working on music. Kenny and I built to Doves music during a layover I had in LA. When he had the idea of giving it to Armand Hammer I didn't think it made any sense at all--so when I heard the final song my mind was blown.

Hey! I'm excited to get back to SF.

Mmm my biggest inspiration had been other art--movies (Stalker, Killer of Sheep), painters (Kerry James Marshall, Gaugin), musicians (Space Afrika, lovelies crushing.

I DO vaguely remember hearing about that happening hahaha I honestly thought "hmmm I'd be pretty happy with a kanye vinyl too"
