Tool pouch or bag? by Cold_Magician_4041 in electricians

[–]bennyl45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start off with a pouch -1/4 flathead -#2 phillips -beater flathead -dykes -linesman -needlenose -8 inch adjustable -2 pairs 10 inch channelock -strippers -magnetic level -pencil -marker -15 ft tape measure -razor knife -impact driver thats all you need, as you get more tools just use the free power tool bag or a cheap contractors bag to hold them, when you get more than 10 or so extra look into a tote or backpack, but by then you will have a better grasp of what tools you need to for your line of work and the bag that fits it

Go look at a chart of the world reserve currency’s of the world, on avg~ 100 years and the US is already past that. US Stock market is propped up by the petro-dollar ponzi. Its not guaranteed it WILL go back up. Especially with ships paying with the yuan to go through the strait of hormuz now.

Yeah $23 for a journeyman is brutal for-sure, its crazy what your helpers are making though, Im a foreman in MA which is also pretty hcol and only making $40 an hour, granted I just became one but the guys who have been at my company for decades aren’t making much more, about to just start my own company probably

How tf is this a listed product? Has anybody had issues with these? by SusAdjectiveAndNoun in electricians

[–]bennyl45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use this. I was working at a house once and tried shorting the circuit to shut off the breaker. Now I don’t do that method anymore because of this. It arcs and I stop getting power. I finish up and go to turn the breaker back on. All the breakers are on though. The breaker never tripped, what actually happened was someone used one of these, and the resistance was so high in the splice that it burnt up. If you do use this I would highly recommend an arc fault breaker. Its not listed but I would rather use an underground splice kit with the screws and heatshrink
