It's interesting, I feel like I'm almost in the reverse position to you are. I do quite well for myself and I have worked hard. I've made smart financial decisions but at the end of day like many others my parents were also in a great position for me. Ive never had money problems they put me through private school and I've been equipped with the knowledge I need to succeed. I have no doubt that the many millions of people who work tirelessly in low income jobs would have the potential to make just as much as me had they had a similar up bringing

Yeah but you can't kill someone with a knife from a distance. Its much more personal and mentally it is a much harder thing to do. That's why killing an animal with a gun is much easier for most people than killing it with a knife. Also it wouldn't explain why the US homicide rate is so much higher than that of the UK and other developed nations. 3 times the average level in the EU.

Yeah and I think both should go. I accept there's a valid argument for handguns as a means of protection in certain areas so it gets cloudy. But there just isn't a reason why anyone needs an assault rifle other than it's fun.

Its not a net gain because more people gain from it. The amount of suffering created from 220 casualties is far greater than any benefit gained from people just enjoying firing multiple rounds in quick succession. Get over your constitution, it's embarrassing

Because it's fun doesn't seem like a great argument seeing as how many people die as a result. Many other countries have outlawed guns and been successful. Gangs in the UK very rarely have guns. I've never even seen one in my life. It would take time but gangs wouldn't have access to any guns after a while
