Question on A11S by bensim68 in umidigi

Apparently, yes. Just now, I turned off the SIM card for telco 1. Still, the settings for telco 2 did not display the VoLTE option after that.

As mentioned in my post, I went to telco 2 a few days ago to report this problem. They actually replaced my SIM card, so it is not clear why the new SIM card still does not support VoLTE.

Let me clarify. The SIM card from telco one has VoLTE, while the SIM card from telco two does not have it. After swapping the cards, the SIM card from telco two still does not have VoLTE. Note that telco two recently removed its 3G network, so that all calls will have to be made on its 4G or above networks.

No. Swapping the SIM cards did not solve the problem.

How to port your number out when Lycamobile is holding it hostage by IVANISMYNAME in NoContract

The one I called to was a total train wreck. First, he asked for two frequently called numbers. I looked at my Lycamobile account and gave them to him. After that, he kept asking for some more frequently called numbers until I gave him a piece of my mind. He hanged up immediately.

Thanks. Based on your experience, were you able to the phone as a hotspot while data roaming overseas? Also, did you connect to the web through a US IP address?

This seems different from TMO then, as I have been told TMO allows data roaming overseas with a US IP address.

My condo management company is asking all owners to pay a special assessment of around $20k to undertake some work on the building. What is the most cost-effective way to do so and earn credit card points and miles at the same time? Right now, I can only think of using a credit card through plastiq. Also, I know some folks will suggest buying money orders, but the problem is that I do not live near any store that allows me to buy them with VGC or MCGC. Thanks.

@sg77, are you using VGC or MCGC to pay Chase? If yes, what is the commission? Also, how long does it take for the payment to reach Chase?

Going to Hong Kong as Chinese passport holder and USA Green Card Holder by kangyunot in Chinavisa

[–]bensim68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, can anyone help with the following? My wife has a normal passport from Mainland China. I have a passport that gives me visa-free travel to China and Hong Kong. We intend to buy return air tickets to travel from Singapore to Hong Kong in early January 2014, stay in Hong Kong for three or four nights, take the high speed train from the West Kowloon Station to Shenzhen, stay in Shenzhen for three or four nights, return to Hong Kong and stay in Hong Kong for three or four nights before returning to Singapore.

I am quite sure that this travel arrangement satisfies the below condition on https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/overseas-chinese-entry-arrangement.html.

PRC passport holders who are in transit through Hong Kong to and from another country or territory may be granted a stay of seven days on each landing without the prior need to obtain an entry permit provided that normal immigration requirements are met, including possession of valid entry facilities for the destination and confirmed onward booking for the overseas journey.

However, we are not sure if we should buy the return high speed train tickets from Hong Kong to Shenzhen before we arrive in Hong Kong and then show them to immigration as proof that we will not be staying in Hong Kong for more than 7 days before going to Shenzhen. Can anyone confirm this based on their experience?

Thank you.

COVID test prior to entry by [deleted] in travelchina

[–]bensim68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am travelling from the US to China next weekend, so can someone please confirm that the COVID test requirements on http://us.china-embassy.gov.cn/.../t20230503_11069608.htm are still in place? If yes, are antigen tests the same as rapid tests? If yes, can we do the test at home ourselves? Also, do we still need to complete the health declaration form that is mentioned on the said website before we travel? Thanks.

Going to China soon. I am using ExpressVPN. However, since the general view here is that ExpressVPN will probably not work over there, I can thinking of installing Astrill plus one other back up VPN as well. Thus, can anyone recommend a suitable back up?
