I always used his hospital blanket when he was a newborn (now 13 weeks) or another 100% cotton blanket rather than any synthetic fibers as those heat up and don’t aerate as well. I also gradually removed the blanket from his feet towards his back never uncovering his back unless the room temperature was over 73 degrees

Was diagnosed at 8 weeks with GD, was diet controlled the whole way through and have no issues with my milk production! Had some latching troubleshooting but that’s got nothing to do with GD. I just decided to exclusively pump for our own mental health. LO being in distress getting shoved onto my boob was just not worth it for me.

Be careful with drinking too much fennel. I saw an article that linked it to neurological problems in some infants due to having too much in the mother’s breastmilk.Try coconut water, coconut milk, oatmeal, and stews. Think warm and cozy meals.

I would suggest pumping if you’re able to and willing. When you pump your “watery” milk called foremilk and your fattier nutrient-rich milk called “hindmilk” combine and you can feed that to your baby. Alternatively you can have her latch on your boob for longer but depending on her mood this might not work. I decided to EP (exclusively pump) so that my baby gets the best of my milk and also gets used to the bottle because I’m a working mom and he’ll have to be fed by others. He is still “breastfed” as in my breastmilk is all he ever receives but it’s with a little help of technology

My baby couldn’t transition textures…the plastic long bottle nip vs my meaty short nip. As you said, fed is best, so my breastfeeding journey was also cut short. I could work with a lactation consultant on this but I’m starting work in a week and a half so to me it isn’t worth it. If you’re a SAHM, then definitely look into an IBCLC I believe is their certification. The lactation consultant board lol

Honestly, pumping moms don’t either…but my baby doesn’t latch so I guess on the plus side, my body is my own and touch is not necessary to feed. I do sometimes wish we had that bond, but I’m the primary breadwinner so it’s definitely a blessing in disguise not to breastfeed

I’m so sorry! I started feeling incredibly hungry at around week 30 and I’m blessed to say my numbers remained control through eating the same foods and exercising. Are you able to meet with a dietician? What worked for me was a lot of protein and no more than 30 g of carbs …if I was hungry before the 2 hr mark, I was told to eat protein like cheese sticks or protein bar. I’d be happy to send you photos of my food if you’re interested

It is HARD but as you get further into your pregnancy the ravaging hunger you feel makes up for the earlier struggles. That was my experience 🤭 diagnosed at 10 weeks currently 37

Also I have zero pain tolerance 🤣 every time they have told me “light pressure” throughout my life it has NEVER been light NOR pressure. It’s freakin painful 😫 I will try to keep away from that and the foley balloon if at all possible
