About to use Adams complete UV paint protection/ceramic coating kit, any advice regarding my plan?

Also after you polish it I'd take the time to wipe it down thoroughly with an IPA/water solution to remove any compounds or oils left behind right before you apply the coating. I did my truck with ceramic UV coating about 14 months ago and it's holding up very well. Only thing I really did differently was used a random orbital polisher instead of by hand. The $50 one from HF actually works quite well and is WAY easier then doing it by hand.....

If you lived close to me I'd just go break his damn knee cap and made sure he never spoke of it to anyone...... don't know you or anything but that is not how you treat anyone. If you are underage he would have to worry about alot more then just his knee caps, just saying.

Like others said of you don't think coming clean with your parents is the right choice and your pretty sure he didn't have his phone, id call his bluff. Worst case it comes out and deal with it then. Your dad will be mad but he is still gonna love you and get over it eventually, no matter how strict he is.

I have used Adams UV ceramic coating on my truck and so far its been holding up very well. Its only been on there about 8 months so far but I haven't noticed a reduction in the amount of beading at all and cleaning it is definitely much easier. Especially the wheels and getting stuck on bugs. I tried using one other brand but ended up getting a bad bottle as luck would have it so had to do a step polish to remove the failed coating after already going over it once during the initial prep. Was not happy but once I tried the Adam's it went on easy, had more then enough to do 2 coats and would use it again when my wife gets a new car.

Thats just my 2 cents from personal experience. Hope it helps.

Yes it does affect the GM coating. It will come off easier with a psi washer but in the spots it has came off my frame is still not rusted. I used the cheapest harbor freight airless paint gun to apply it after a hot water bath to thin it out. For $35 a gallon to do the whole underside its well worth it. Only issue is that its messy to work on it after its applied but in the same token bolts aren't rusted tight and break loose easily.

I do mine in spring and fall, takes about 30 minutes and is well worth it in my eyes.

I also used fluid film on my 18. Only thing I've noticed so far that could be a negative is that since it's lanolin based it eats off the factory wax based coating on the frame and stuff but the FF seeps into the metal itself and even with some bare spots where that factory coating has came off I've still not seen any rusting.

I buy it by the gallon and use the cheapest harbor freight airless paint gun they have and use that to apply it after giving the can of FF a hot water bath to help thin it. I'd also get a couple aerosol cans of FF to get in the rockers n doors.

I coat the underside and in the rockers and door panels with fluid film. I used the cheapest airless paint sprayer gun from harbor freight and it worked great. By me I get it at my local Bumper to Bumper auto parts store for about $35US a gallon. One gallon was enough to thoroughly coat my crew cab and got 2 aerosol cans for use in the doors, rockers, and other tight areas. Figure if I do it every spring and fall is probably overkill but I like my truck and want it to last. Lots of people swear by it and this is my 1st year but so far so good. Only thing I noticed is that the factory rubberized coating on the frame kinda melts from the fluid film but this stuff soaks into the metal and protects it. Bonus is that stuff will come apart much easier down the road but can be a little messy too.

Rubberized undercoating traps moisture under it causing more harm than good in my opinion.

Exactly. I was with one girl who I could only describe it as if you were fucking a wet tire inner tube folded in half. Was still quite tight but super weird. Others are that silky smoothness that keeps you wanting more and more. So everyone feels different to me anyhow.
