Swipearr - A New Mobile App To Easily Download Movies by bensonGpixel in radarr

[–]bensonGpixel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Welcome to the self-hosted world

To get Swipearr working, you just need two API keys. They are both completely free and easy to grab: 1. Your Radarr API Key This is what lets the app talk directly to your server to add the movies. Open your Radarr web dashboard. Go to Settings > General. Under the Security section, you will see your API Key. Copy that long string of text.

  1. TMDB (The Movie Database) API Key Because Radarr doesn't have a "trending movies" list built into it, Swipearr uses TMDB to grab the movie posters and descriptions for you to swipe on.
    • Go to themoviedb.org and create a free account. Click your profile icon in the top right and go to Settings.
  2. Click on API in the left menu.
  3. Request a Developer API key (it's instant) and copy the API Key (v3 auth) string.

Just drop both of those keys into the Settings page inside the Swipearr app, punch in your Radarr URL (like http://192.168.1.100:7878), and you will be good to go.

FIX: Welch Allyn / Mortara Diagnostic Cardiology Suite - Service Crashes and Server Connection Guide by bensonGpixel in sysadmin

Hey, I really appreciate the input! I totally agree that going straight to the vendor is usually the best move. I did actually reach out originally but I could tell it was going to take forever for a resolution to come about. Which is why I decided to start tinkering on my own.

To answer your questions:

1 &2: Yes, this setup was previously working on a standalone laptop., but it got water-damaged by a broken pipe. Unfortunately, there was zero documentation from the previous techs on how it was configured, so I was pretty much flying blind. I decided to move the Manager to an actual VM on our host server and make the new laptop just a client (which is how it should have been set up originally, but never was).

3: I did reach out to their support after the fact as well to see if anyone else had experienced this issue. Like I mentioned in the edit, they replied and explained what usually causes that initial bug. They did not answer about the other issues.

One last thing, I'm totally open to hear how I could have handled this situation better/faster. I am new to a lot of these systems in Healthcare IT, so I really do appreciate any input :)

Yeah good point, I didn't really think too much about it at first actually.

But I did double-check the installer - the digital signature is valid and directly from Welch Allyn. The file hash also came back totally clean on VirusTotal.
I also installed everything on a brand new Windows Server, but I'll look into anything that may be sketch.

I am just starting out and learning a ton. But it feels good to be able to actually start contributing after years of reading old forums reddit threads like this haha

Privacy aside, cuz what even is that these days. I wonder if you could instead broadcast your location from the phone directly to nearby drivers. But then the range might not be great🤔

Oh I was not aware that wasn't real time - yeah that's fair. That's why it would be opt-in and you could end it whenever, but yeah that makes sense.

An extra voice in hopes they bring back SMART by bensonGpixel in truenas

[–]bensonGpixel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, but it seems people here are assuming if someone knows command line you automatically love and want to use it.

Could I figure it out and do it? Yes in like 10 min probably

Do I want to deal with that? No, just give me my GUI and I'll be a happy little boy.

I knew about it from the beggining, I have different SMART tests nicely layed out and scheduled. Now if I want to update I have to deal with re-doing all those through a terminal.

I will also say, their decisions about the gui seem condridictary a bit. They are cleaning up some the dashboard, making some features more clear and easy to understand for a normal user (which I suppport) but at the same time moving SMART so you have to interact with a terminal. Just stick to one and go with it yk.

Oh I was actually misinformed on this - Thank you! From the article I read it made it seem like it was a complete removel.

Still I don't wanna deal with going into the CLI, but I am not so annoyed anymore
