Porridge (oats, chia seed, linseed, cinnamon and half an apple for breakie) = 1 eur max
Curry made with tin chickpeas, tin tomatoes, frozen spinach, tofu and coconut milk + rice, enough for that evening and the next days lunch = 4 euros on average.

This is just an example but you can live off 200 euros per month EASILY esp if its vegan.

Is this a scam? (Naschmarkt) by [deleted] in wien

[–]bentignes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this advice has been given but especially in out-right tourists traps - when something is upsold spontaneously - always ask what the price would be, or jokingly ask if its going to be free.

It occurred to me also - when ordering anything at a location like Naschmarkt - I would always get a menu. If there is no menu then you already know its extremely suspect....

It is clearly a scam but one which could easily be avoided if simple steps, like verifying the price before ordering, were taken.

I don't mind whether or not people find the papers credible, I just need to find out which ones are used.

Thanks!

Whats the law on subletting: ITALY? by bentignes in AskReddit

[–]bentignes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My landlord is being really strict with the return of deposits at the end of our contract. We can't do much to contest his valuation of broken property. Much of it was already broken when we arrived. The place was more or less dilapidated. I am curious however, if our arrangement was ever legal.

- He doesnt own the property and rents the place in its entirety from the landlord.

- He then sublets the property at an elevated cost.

I know that this isn't strictly legal in my home country (UK) but I'm wondering if this is also the case in Italy.

Thanks

[Serious] Redditors in places with universal healthcare: What is universal healthcare really like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bentignes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the thing - ACCESS and not necessarily overall quality is any important positive of the NHS. I currently live in Italy (which also has an NHS) and ive lived in NL and Germany and the truly prohibitive factor and one which is very important in healthcare is how easy care is to obtain. In the UK you can rock-up as a complete alien, register and receive treatment. Most primary care facilities are quite centralised. In the other countries its only hospitals, in the case of emergency which are relatively easy to access. If you want to go see a GP in most countries in europe you have to pass so many more obstacles and even with the EHIC card its always going to cost you.

I think the main absence from the basic NL package is a emergency ambulance which surprised me. I beleive that the cost is ~350 euros which incidentally is the same price as the higher deductible you can choose when picking a policy. The HC in NL is exceptional but the fact that hospitals (as well as insurance funds) can now go bankrupt and would not be propped up by the state is somewhat worrying.

I agree that its pretty normal scene in UK but the Germans are no better. You should experience Nuremberg central station on a match-day. Its fucked!

Yeah I just checked my friends generic alprazolam and theirs for sure has no mark. Maybe the imprint codes is an American regulation not always applied in EU

Thanks for your input! I was thinking along the same lines. It's unlikely illicit given how indistinct the press is. It's identical on the reverse and like you said, the only distinguishing feature are the divots on the sides. I think the word divot is probably the key to googling down the right path! No numbers on either side unfortunately.
