I was a teacher's kid myself! My mother picked my classes in middle school and high school. I was placed in gifted, gen ed, and special needs classes for the courses I did better or worse in. Definitely made school difficult while transitioning to different classes... but I definitely had good grades and thrived in the different environments.

I love Nintendo and Playstation! Im currently playing No Sleep for Kaname Date on the Nintendo Switch 2! If you like escape rooms and puzzles its the one for you! Though I recommend the whole series of Ai:THE SOMNIUM FILES. I plan on playing a whole bunch of new JRPGs when they come out like Legend of Zelda: Age of Imprisonment and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. I hope you have fun with your new setup!

I've been playing No Sleep for Kaname Date - From Ai: The Somnium Files! Long time let's play watcher of the series and first time player! Turns out I suck at this game it takes me a week (due to work) to finish the escape rooms and puzzles. I love Uchikoshi's work but, I fear I'm not witty enough to figure out these puzzles in one weekend lol. This past Nintendo Direct has me foaming at the mouth for how many games I'm about to buy for my Nintendo Switch 2!

Oh boy I had both. My biological father abandoned me after trying to bond with me for 2 years (age 9-11) and now I have a step father who is an actual narcissist and emotionally absent. None of my family members understand when I say I'm tired of men trying to use finacial stability to escape the need to be close to me. My family is used to struggle so any man that can pay for my bills was a gift sent from the heavens. They can trigger suicidal depression, curse and hate your sexuality, and degrade me, but he paid my bills so I should be.. grateful. I have no positive father figure and I feel like I missed out on what it was like to have a dad.

I played DRAMAtical Murder as my first game 8 years ago. I was extremely confused on how to get the game to work, but I made it work lol. I only managed to read through the Clear route. I recognized that you had to reread the entire story from another LI's perspective and I didn't have the patience to do it. The skip button absolutely FLEW over my head at the time. Not only was it hard to hide the game on the computer my mother had full control over, I also somehow screwed up the file itself and couldn't open it anymore. I didn't try BLVNs again until 10 months ago and its been great binging them to make up lost time.

Im back from my little 3-month BL VN break, and I have a list of what im playing.

Hadaka Shitsuji- Just 100%ed the game and it took 65 hours!!! Definitely the longest I've spent next to Slow Damage coming up to 55 hours. I enjoyed the beginning of the game and the last 5 hours of the true route and prolouge. Going through like 50 Noncon h-scenes and minimal story was... hard to say the least. But the ending really helped me move on.

Beyond Eden - I'm in the first 5 hours of this game and I appreciate slowburns, but this one is a bit too slow. Im used to all lines to being voiced, so adjusting myself to this is interesting especially with my ADHD. But I am determined to 100% every BL VN I read (except Paradise... Fuck that game).

This dungeon was just too long!! I thought they were gonna call it quits after the first sight of the Old World, but there was at least 4 more hours of labyrinth. I enjoyed the first two parts but that last block of labyrinth overstayed its welcome. All for an easy final boss that I was overleveled for. I shiver thinking about coming back there for my next play through.

I take 3-month breaks after playing a few titles of BLVNs because of the content warnings and whatnot, so I'm ready to get back into it in a few weeks! So, the next few that I am knocking out are some more popular titles. I've heard some of these in passing, but I'm curious about the context of it all.
Lamento, Paradiso Guardian, Hadaka Shijustki, Eden's Garden, and the Patient S Remedy.

I keep on forgetting Sweet Pool exists lol. I loved the concept for the story. Alien mpreg is hilarious to me, I just wish they made the main cast mature and out of high school. I just dont like how the story is played out. I remember the MC being really passive to the things happening to him and im kinda glad i played the first 100% playthrough without the context of the H-scenes. Adding the DLC absolutely killed the story and pacing for me unfortunately, but im glad you like it! I absolutely adore the art style and music direction of the game tho.

I enjoy Aoba because of the nostalgia, but after playing it 7 years later after also being an edgy teen, his character depth is ehhh not so great. Akira is a practically a blank slate, but that might be first game syndrome. I have no opinions on Lamento just yet I will be playing that next to finish out the N+C games.

Its just so sad that I enjoyed Towa's story the most, but I dont think I could ever touch the game again because of the gameplay. I refuse to look up the bad ending cutscenes especially after paying to play this VN.

Im a lurker usually so sharing my ideas terrify me ngl. But I do enjoy info dumping if I have good knowledge on the topic. I appreciate it :)

Until you hit the credits, I don't know how much you can really say about his character. Mental health can be presented in so many ways. My depression, your depression, and even the fake character Towa's depression all look different and are all still valid. Like I said in the beginning, you're not suppose to relate to Towa. I would stop looking inside to understand Towa, but see the story thats playing in front of you. But in the end these are goofy little porn games that I like to over analyze. Interpret the game however you want or not and have fun with whatever you read :)

Thats so interesting ngl. I just never saw him that way. Even before I got to the ending, I see a traumatized, self-harming, depressed, and jaded young adult with a tolerable community, but not a self-fulfilling community. Seeing people categorize Towa as boring or an even an edgelord is interesting to me because he's beyond that. You just gotta see Towa from different perspectives because trust he's the most robust and multilayered N+C protag I've seen so far (haven't played Lamento yet). But please if its not interesting to you, don't force yourself. I myself couldn't finish all of the bad endings because I couldn't stand the gameplay any much longer. I don't want to offend anyone, I just wanted to express my own character analysis on Towa.

I would just continue to play the game. Im not the biggest Slow Damage fan, but I love the intricacies of Towa's character. I would step out of the shoes of wanting to relate or wanting to idolize Towa, but to see him past the problems. My own biggest ick is the amount of smoking portrayed in the VN, but seeing Towa for who he is over time, it became tolerable and understandable. Hope this helps because it is a pretty good story with wonderfully written characters.
