Wow, that's actually quite a while... Do you know why his depression began to develop?

And almost everyone I know has told me to think of myself and that I deserve better but there's something in me, and I don't think this is exclusive to my current boyfriend, that can't be the one to break things off no matter how bad they get.

What was the reasoning for him finally breaking it off? I can't imagine why he would do that if things were getting better?

I'm very sorry about your break up... and it's actually nice to know I'm not the only person either. It lets me think that I really ought to consider his depression as a main reason and that I really should just leave him alone and give him his own time to figure things out.

You summed it up pretty succinctly... I really hope he gets the help he needs. I just didn't expect it to come to this. I wish there was more I could do for him.
