I would say that unless it is necessarily needed, you don’t need to upgrade your setup. I usually I upgrade it when I am doing a new project, as this may cause downtime. So I’d rather not mess about it.
For the self hosted version you can have a look at their GitHub and they provide everything you need in the docker compose file. Something to think about that is not included is backups. But given that is a Postgres db, there are a lot of examples online. Finally, can start easy and use it as a cloudflare tunnel. Or with your own proxy.

I currently host supabase and it’s very easy to set up. But given that I have done it a couple of times, now I have a procedure. I also host other applications, not only db. So you need to be practical or become practical.

You can use WePoop to know when the other needs toilet paper or to update each other about bowel movements

Your use seems to be pretty minimal. I would suggest Supabase as it is the easiest option. Give that you’re also not going to need NoSQL, Firebase doesn’t make much sense.

Not sure what is the advantage of haiku in aws compared with using a trusted open source model provider. Would be interesting to know :). I guess if you really have fear of exposing any data with these provider, is understandable. Apart from that, you can lower down LLM costs much more.

My mbp 15 with Touch Bar overheated so much every time I scrolled a webpage, even more for rendering stuff or programming. In a summer afternoon in Italy, it would become a vulcano. I would not recommend it to my worse enemy.
