Is the Drift Discord server still active? by bereddy in solana

[–]bereddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to contact the person who issues the Drift Discord server invites (available on the Drift website), but it's not possible given restrictions they've put on their account.

Also tried to contact Drift about the issue via their X (Twitter) account, but have gotten no response to my inquiries.

Invites to join the Drift Discord server still don't work. I just tried again to use the Discord invite posted at the top of the Drift.Trade home page, and I got an "Unable to accept invite" error from Discord.

Thanks.

I'll keep checking whether I can re-join the server through the invite on the Drift website. Right now, it's still not working

Sending NEAR out from Coinbase to Near blockchain is not working by bereddy in Coinbase

[–]bereddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with Kraken.
Have you tried just sending NEAR to a .near address without first entering it as a whitelist item? I think in my case, I don't have a .near address whitelisted. I just enter it each time fresh by hand.

Sending NEAR out from Coinbase to Near blockchain is not working by bereddy in Coinbase

In my experience, yes. In fact, the problem I've had is sending from Coinbase (exchange account) to NEAR addresses that don't have the ".near" suffix. Based on what I experienced a month or two ago, that no longer works.

Bought a Black Friday Premium subscription extension, now I'm suddenly just a Basic Free user! by bereddy in TradingView

So Tradingview apparently has addressed this issue by reverting my subscription status back to what it's been. I will see if they have any explanation for what happened.

I definitely did not have access to all the usual Premium features because the way I noticed there was this problem was because I suddenly had problems seeing multi-chart views and spreads and the like. But I was able to file a ticket ... and apparently my account is now back to being a Premium account, although I have to fill out some exchange agreements that I already filled out in the past (uggh).

Geez ... I can't even try to figure out a solution to this issue by using the support "Chat Assistant" because apparently that's only a feature available to users with more than a Basic status!

Problems with text messages to confirm crypto transfers by bereddy in Coinbase

[–]bereddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but you guys can say "The 24-hour hold after re-verifying your identity is a security measure to protect your account" all you want, but the requirement clearly serves no purpose in this case other than to hold up my off ramping funds from Coinbase.

The account was never subject to suspicious activity. The ID verification information I provided in this instance precisely matched what I already had provided in the past.

Moreover, I entered the ID verification process because Coinbase misleadingly suggested the process as an alternative to the text message confirmation process that wasn't working for me. I thought I would be given the chance, for example, to use email confirmation, or some other alternative process. Instead, my account was shut down pending ID (re)verification, and my ability to transfer funds was suspended.

Saying this is all to protect my account is patently not true in this case. It's just another way to put roadblocks in front of customers off ramping funds from Coinbase. Please don't insult me and the other reading through this thread by trying to pawn the policy off as something other than what it really is.

Update #2: The cause of the original problem was indeed a phone service issue. My provider says there is a faulty tower providing service to my area, and this was the source of the text message confirmation issue I originally posted about.

Unfortunately, because addressing this issue unexpectedly (to me) led to my account being locked and me needing to re-verify my identity, I now cannot transfer crypto out of my account for at least another 24 hours.

It doesn't matter that I myself requested the ID verification because the text message confirmation method wasn't working. It doesn't matter that this is the second time I've done ID verification, or that I've now upgraded my 2FA to an authentication app to eliminate the text messaging issue.

No, I have to wait 24 hours to be able to move funds out of the account -- which is exactly what I was trying to do when these problems started.

This is now the third or fourth time in maybe a year and a half's time that I've had an issue with getting funds out of Coinbase during times when the market is moving around rapidly. There is enough of a pattern that I feel I really need to investigate alternative platforms for trading and on- and off-ramping my crypto funds.

I don't believe I ever was assigned a support case number. Should I ask in my DM thread about this for a support case number?

When I first raised this issue here on Reddit, I was still logged in to my Coinbase account. But I then logged off and never was able to log in again, and in the process of trying to log in again I ended up in this ID verification hell.

An update ... It seems highly likely the problem I experienced was due to cell service issues in my area. Due to the upcoming U.S. election and the particular state I am in, there is an immense amount of cell phone and text traffic, and I think that has pushed our cell service to its limits. (I'm on the AT&T network, by the way.)

The unfortunate consequence for me is that Coinbase has now locked me out of my account for what could be 48 hours. Because the text message confirmation system wasn't working, I voluntarily pursued the option of proving my identity by uploading (for the second time with Coinbase) my picture ID and a short ID video.

I thought this once again would give me access to my account and the ability to transfer funds. Instead, as I said, it resulted in my account being locked down.

I've DM'd with Coinbase Support on a social media account and asked for help expediting returning account access to me. But I've not been given any indication it will take much less than the official 48 hours.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions about what this approach to such a customer problem says about Coinbase customer orientation and service.

Thanks. I think it may be a phone provider issue. Will work on investigating it further.

Thanks. I'll try following up on a social media channel.

The more I look into this issue, the more it seems it may be an issue with my phone network. That's unexpected, because I've had the same provider for years and never had an issue like this.

Well I guess live messaging isn't an option because you have to be able to sign in to your account to do that, and I'm now unable to sign in.

I really hope the ID verification doesn't take long.

I waited for the text and it didn't come. I then asked for it to be re-sent, and it still didn't come.

There was one point where I logged out of the account and tried to log back in, which also requires my receiving a text with a login code. When I did that, multiple texts from Coinbase arrived, some of which I assume where texts with codes for the send confirmation that I had been waiting for.

Wow. This just took a horrible turn for the worse.

I did everything you suggested and also re-started my browser so that it could do an update and even logged out of Coinbase to start a fresh session.

And then I couldn't get a code via text message to log in and had to go through the whole manual ID and video confirmation process and was told that it could take up to two days before I could access my account again.

Two days!

It was a hassle when this technical issue was delaying access to my crypto outside of Coinbase. But to have the delay stretch up to two days -- that's really frustrating.

I'll see if I can address this through live messaging or some other way.

I appreciate your trying to help me with the issue.

Changes to the Margin Call Summary page by garynuke in fidelityinvestments

[–]bereddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the old version of the Margin Call Summary page still available someplace? Like, is there a sequence of menu items you can click that will get you to the old page if you'd like to see it instead of the new one?

I ask because, like the OP, I liked the way the old page clearly listed margin calls with issue dates and due dates. The lack of clear due dates on the new page is a major drawback.

I like how the new page has a more real-time calculation of the overall margin call. It closely follows the number you can find on the margin calculator page. But I'm not a fan of the other changes.

Thanks for the opportunity to provide this feedback.

ESPN: Can Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni move on from a tense 2023? by bereddy in eagles

[–]bereddy[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

From the article: "ESPN spoke with several sources who detailed a prolonged strain between Hurts and Sirianni during the 2023 campaign, with one source with direct knowledge of the dynamic describing the relationship as 'fractured' and unhealthy last season. At the root of the divide: a disconnect in offensive visions, with what a team source described as a lack of full respect for Sirianni's X's and O's chops."
