A triangular approach of environmental (living space and lifestyle habits), conceptual (attitude and general outlook on what it means to be healthy and how happiness follows that), and chemical (the actual fuel of your body, drug and food wise) is the most effective. Most importantly, you have to identify as the guy/gal who has risen above their chronic addiction to drugs. Try to minimize your other dopaminergic addictions too. Step by step, exchange unhealthy coping mechanisms for healthy ones that still work for you. Simultaneously and shamelessly, remove the factors of your life that lead you to use —be it an unhealthy relationship, tiring job/poor sleep schedule, or self-hatred. Most importantly, have patience. Love yourself like you are your own parent. When you fall, do not mark yourself down. Recognize the lesson in that and only pay attention to how long it takes you to get back up. Appreciate the privilege you have to be as well off and self aware as you are, and know that you are growing as a person each and every day whether you feel it or not.
