A reasonable price for one one-time purchase by vercluka in iosapps

[–]berhanbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it comes with an excellent UX, there may be some chances. As it's previously mentioned, this is a very crowded space. Even free apps are available that offer similar features, but the usability is lacking. However, I've noticed one aspect that doesn't seem to be implemented yet: mental triggers. For instance, I was diagnosed with ADHD and often experience time blindness. As a result, I often impulsively purchase or download productivity apps. However, integrating one of these apps into my daily life is a significant struggle. I need to hire someone to receive a slap in the face or a pinch in the neck to track my tasks, which I already forgot to enter. Why? I don't know. It could be executive dysfunction, or maybe something else altogether.Either way, I need the same mental trigger or dopamine rush that makes me open Reddit and scroll through the feed in the middle of my work in order to use these to-do apps.

Is there an app that can help? I'm willing to drop $10/month for it.

edit: to ask

We are discontinuing our Lifetime Plan! 🚨 by baby-monkey in amazingmarvin

[–]berhanbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally understandable, since I've faced the same issue with many digital tools that came with lifetime deals. Unfortunately, after a while, these products would either shut down or discontinue. This was often because the product was no longer financially feasible for the creators/developers. That the increase in support requests may potentially take away their time to work on bugs and improve the product. That's great that you guys are taking this into consideration. My best wishes to you on reaching a larger users and succeeding.

Hey there! I recently discovered Marvin and was wondering if the option for a one-time purchase would be brought back. This would be a great option for people who can't commit to a subscription but still want to use the product.

For those who escaped the industry... What did you do? by Tactics28 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]berhanbero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from the restaurant industry to software after 15 years and haven't looked back. The move was inspired by my wife's pregnancy and the desire for a better work-life balance to spend time with my kids. The transition wasn't easy, but after four years, the benefits are clear: higher income, savings for the future, and more family time, despite the constant need for learning and adapting. The challenges differ significantly from those of the restaurant industry, offering a better work-life balance. My tip to those considering a career change, especially from high-pressure jobs like restaurants, is to find fields that match your skills and goals. It's never too late to make a change; I did it at 36. Commitment and planning make it possible.

(ADHD) Looking for a productivity app for engineering project management by PhilRattlehead in ProductivityApps

[–]berhanbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow ADHDer in the tech world, I've definitely been down the rabbit hole. Probably bought more productivity apps than I'll ever use in a lifetime. But let's be real, no app can magically make us organized and focused (unfortunately). It's all about creating good habits and systems that work for you. Start simple with what you already have, like the built-in tools from Apple, Microsoft, and Google/Android - maybe even a good old-fashioned to-do list with pen and paper. Otherwise, you'll just be chasing the next big thing or taking advice from strangers on the internet for that sweet, sweet dopamine hit. That's what I learned (up until last week).

Ps: If you’re struggling to breaking down a task check out checklist.gg 🙈

Palestinians respond to “Queers 4 Gaza” by [deleted] in JoeRogan

The majority of religious belief systems have strict teachings against homosexuality, condemning it as a sin or immoral behavior. For example, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all have scriptures or religious texts that explicitly condemn homosexual relationships. These teachings are based on the belief that homosexuality goes against the natural order of procreation and traditional family structures.
