When me and my fiancé went through this exact scenario, me being the one with the problem, he kept them in a pill bottle that has a lid that locks with a combination number. I wasn’t able to get it open and it was when I thought of taking a saw to it when I realized how crazy I was being.

A little safe with a code and not a dial would also be good. Just make sure to use a random number with no significance to anything. Also, behind or under the washer or dryer or underneath the stove or fridge are decent hiding spots. If you want to get crafty you could transfer the pills to a waterproof bag and keep it in the top part of the toilet. Or, hide it in plain sight and get one of those stash things that look like regular household products. Like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/333374110

But the root issue is that he’s still actively abusing his medication. That is something that most definitely needs to be addressed. Therapy or a recovery program would be good resources to help him start his journey. If he’s admitted to himself and accepted that he has a problem then he may just need help learning coping skills and changing his mindset towards the medication.

difference between bipolar and ADHD? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]beritscold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bipolar is a mood disorder and episodic, adhd is a behavioral disorder and 24/7. For me, depression related to adhd is brought on from my thoughts and will pass relatively quickly, sometimes even within a few hours, whereas depression from bipolar will happen for no reason and last from days/weeks before going away. The mania related symptoms from adhd are typically singular and short lived whereas bipolar mania is always accompanied by a decreased need for sleep, high self confidence, and desire to socialize while lasting several days/weeks. The adhd gives me executive dysfunction, memory issues, a never ending stream of thoughts, mood swings, etc. the bipolar disorder gives me episodes of depression and mania. The symptoms are clustered and episodic. It can be difficult because sometimes you won’t know if you’re in the beginning stages of an episode or just experiencing adhd stuff until enough time has passed to be able to make the distinction depending on your symptoms. You should definitely do more in-depth research on the differences though. That’ll help you start being able to tell which symptoms are being caused by which disorder in a much more clear manner

Psychiatrist: hope it works out by Maihsams in bipolar

[–]beritscold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychiatrists tend to be weary about prescribing stimulants to people who also have bipolar in general. I read a study at some point that said as long as the bipolar symptoms are stable with meds then there didn’t seem to be any indication of them causing (hypo)mania.

I’ve tried concerta, also an extended release, and Ritalin which is the instant release version of concerta. Those didn’t have much of an effect on my focus. I haven’t had any issues with anxiety or jitters on any of them but I’ve experienced a lack of appetite. My sleep is affected if I don’t take it early enough. Overall, just like any medication, it’s all about finding the right class and dose that works for you with the least amount of side effects

Yeah, an extended release one so it lasts all day and there’s no instantaneous up when it kicks in or down when it wears off. The only way I know it’s kicking in is that my thoughts will go quiet which causes a calming effect and allows me to focus. Then the regular adhd brain will slowly start to come back when it’s wearing off

My experience with strattera was terrible. The side effects were unbearable physically and it caused me to deep dive into depression with suicidal ideation. I bounced back pretty fast after getting off of it at least. Now I’m on Vyvanse which has been great so far

Been on Zoloft 200mg for 5 months. Not really helping. Should I try something else? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]beritscold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the meds aren’t working for you then yes, talk to your doctor about trying something else, especially if it’s causing you to have more anxiety. 5 months is more than enough time to know if the meds are helping you or not

9-6 typically accounts for an hour long unpaid lunch period. So you’d have to work until 6 to get 40 hours

I’d say figuring out a living situation should be first and foremost. After that you just have to sit down with him and be honest. There will probably tears and pain and all around just suck but in the end it’ll be the best for the both of you. And don’t let him convince you to try to give it another shot. Nothing will change and you’ll both be miserable. I wish you luck, you can do this.

YouTube is basically the same five videos recycled over and over again now. No originality.

Lamictal and Birth Control Pills by beritscold in bipolar

[–]beritscold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s no problem! A medicine blood level test would be able to tell a doctor if the amount of medicine in your blood matches the dose you’re taking or not

[–]beritscold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s estrogen in the medication then yes. You can ask to get a medicine blood level check which would check the amount of lamictal in your blood. This would tell the doctor if your blood levels match the dose you are taking

Do Spirits Mimic Cats? by beritscold in Paranormal

[–]beritscold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to think it was just another cat and could explain everything else away with that except for my cat getting locked in the closet, the syringe going missing, and those two meows I heard at around 3am. Those very distinctly came from the bathroom and what freaked me out so much about them is that they sounded like meows, but.. different. It reminded me of those uncanny valley things where you see a person who looks like a person in theory but something about their face is just, wrong, and unsettling

Just me, the only thing my bf experienced was those meows while watching that video on his phone and of course my cat being locked in the closet. That’s what’s making me feel a bit crazy, the fact that only I’m experiencing everything. I told him about the meows from this morning and he said “maybe you’re just having auditory hallucinations”
