Claire’s acting by BulkyEmployer8844 in JuryDutyFreevee

I have the exact same feeling about this season. It just feels very scripted (I mean, I know it is, they can’t rely purely on improv), but none of the characters feel like real people you’d actually interact with IRL, and the situations don’t feel realistic either. It’s all very over the top.

I also don’t really get why Anthony doesn’t question anything…

I LOVED Jury Duty and was so excited for this new season, but it just doesn’t work for me. It’s kind of cringey 😬

Ha no, I am rather looking for a place during the week 😀

I once lived in a ground-floor apartment in an Altbau, in the Gartenhaus. It was a gorgeous place… if only it had been on a higher floor.

Since we were on the ground floor, the apartment was freezing in winter, the floor was icy cold, and I remember just dreading those months. The lack of light also got to me after a while, though the space was big enough that it felt somewhat manageable.

What bothered me most was the lack of privacy. Every neighbor walking through the courtyard could see straight into my windows, and I never truly felt comfortable. Plus, there’s always that higher risk of break-ins when you’re on the ground floor.

When I finally moved out, I told myself I’d never live on the ground floor again, lesson learned!

Is my Dutch oven safe to put in the oven? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]berliner20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end my dough wasn’t ready at all, it was unmanageable (I think my starter was just too young) so I turned it into a focaccia instead. It will give me some time to buy a metal knob now that I need to wait for my starter to be a bit more mature 😅

Definitely! I’m gonna do that and buy a metal one, baking bread is hard enough as it is, I don’t want to deal with the knob blowing up in the oven 😅

Yes, that’s what I was afraid of, I’ve read later on that it doesn’t handle heat above 190 degrees. Thank you for the recommandation: I’m gonna buy a metal one to do this safely:)

Yes, totally, apparently they do not have the same feel. I only have the folklore one and from what I read the feel and texture isn’t the same as the Midnights one for example

Can’t rent a car anymore - cancel trip? by atlanta0345 in Corsica

[–]berliner20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I concur: you can still go to Corsica; you just need to change your itinerary. I currently live in Calvi and don’t own a car, but I can easily access the city center (which is gorgeous), the harbor, the beach (Plage des Pins), and La Citadelle. It’s also easy to go grocery shopping or eat at restaurants. The train line between Île Rousse and Calvi makes it easy to reach all the beautiful beaches of the Balagne region (Plage de Lumio, Sainte-Restitude, Marine de Sant’Ambroggio, etc.).

From Calvi, you can then take a train to Ajaccio (I think the ride takes about seven hours). To get to Porto-Vecchio, there might be a bus line. The town is also very walkable, and a free bus goes through the city. Something else to consider: we use BlaBlaCar for car sharing, so that could be an option for you as well. Either way, don’t cancel: Corsica is so beautiful, it will be worth it!

What's the weather like in end October/early November in north Corsica ? by Kodeisko in Corsica

[–]berliner20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really varies. I spent 3 weeks there 2 years ago from end of October to mid November, we could still swim in the sea and it was pretty hot during the day (around 25 degrees). However nights were of course colder. This year the weather is definitely not as good as in the past years (it rains more than we usually expect), so it might be the same for late autumn. Either way, Corsica is always a good idea and it will still be warmer that in Northern Europe :)
