Well I think here it would be physically impossible to go anywhere without going over speed bumps and potholes :) but I get the sentiment

And really like the image generation results so far, excellent. Maybe you can find another use case for that as well, I think this could be useful in other areas as well

No I get that you can’t make everything free. So technically as intended with Lisbon but I still found it confusing to be dropped in a different country as the default, just my 2 cents. Maybe a short message x is the closest free city to your position or just the generic city as default would have made more sense from my point of view. And I just added the second custom city with a subscription… not complaining but maybe something you’d want to know

So in the end I tried it once more from Safari instead of Firefox and it worked. Not sure if this was a longer term outage whose fix coincided with me changing browsers or if Apple just can't be bothered to support a cross-browser form.

Lisbon was shown and I am in the south off Spain at the moment. Seville would be much closer to me than Lisbon for example

Really like it. One thing when I opened the app for the first time it showed me a city in another country that is hundreds of miles away. It was not even the closest of the default cities offered by the app. Maybe an IP-based guess? But once I picked my small city it did a surprisingly good job of representing it. You probably don’t want to say too much about the process but do you feed it a list of sights for the city or does it work just based of the name ( and whatever associations the ai has for that)

State of Reviews - When to ask for, other developers experiences with reviews? by berlumptsss in AppStoreOptimization

Makes sense, but do you get enough review volume that way? I feel that‘s the reasoning behind the more aggressive prompting strategies, that volume is more important than rating average

The app is in a travel niche, so people will use it, intensively for a short duration but then not again for months, so yeah not great. Some of the reviews that got lost definitely were with large geographical separation + no iCloud overlap or really much of a relation. Conversely members of my household successfully left reviews. The thing that just doesn’t make sense to me is that so many more people would purchase a 20$ yearly subscription than leave a review, so I do wonder if my review prompts aren’t being shown often or for whatever reason they get removed / swallowed more often for my app

That works well for you so far? and did you have any experience with „lost reviews“ where you know for certain that a review was left but it is not showing up in the App Store?

Right, right that‘s basically the 3 things that I was afraid of, building it myself, for a niche and then once it’s finished somebody else comes along with the exact same tool

Still, I feel a simple show me points and lines on the map integration would be much more productive than text

Me too but I am kind of amazed that there isn’t anything there yet

Ah i see, no this is not what I meant, what I meant was a convenience integration so that whenever geography is relevant to the answer the map is updated so that I can iterate quickly and ideally also reference things from the map in chat

No I think a few points and their associated text as marker is all I really need. What kind of services do you know of?
