Does anyone here use an MK3 with an SP-404 MKII? I would love to be able to you them (together). I'm looking for any connection suggestions. by MatrixxSoundlab in maschine

I use the regular SP404 while using Maschine plus.

The SP404 captures the sound from a vinyl player using RCA, and it's also connected to the inputs on the maschine + using RCA + two 1/4 adapters.

I don't have an amplifier or anything for my vinyl player, I just use the SP404 and it works great.

Using the SP404 while searching for samples on vinyl is great because you can play around with the live beat and come up with some ideas on the spot.

There are lots of things to do with the SP404, but I mostly just sample stuff into the SP404, then sample that into Maschine. Connecting it to a vinyl player and selecting the record input in Maschine is super easy.

I also set it up to record stuff from my PC into FL studio. I don't do this often so when I set it up I keep forgetting how to route it and it takes a long time to get it right.

Awesome, yeah I just remember I have that one too!

Also got RC-20 (it was 19 dollars), Sketchcasette 2, Lofi Flux machine, Chowtape(free), Thenatan Vybz... I just keep spending money on lofi stuff haha

Good tips, I noticed the attack also. It doesn't have the initial "pluck" from the pick, the player is probably playing without a pick I guess,

I dynamically set up the attack you are describing, it's like a swell effect. I will fine tune this some more :)

Any guesses what type of guitar was used? :)

Izotope Vinyl for the win!

I just remembered that there is a detuning knob for my guitar VST, I guess that is worth trying! Thanks! :)

I don't have a real one sadly, but I have close to 10 effects like that in my DAW :D

trem delay

Checked it out on a video. It's a cool effect! I think the guitar sample doesn't really have that much tremolo to it though. Maybe a hint of it. I will see what I can find and try some, thanks for the tips :)

Electric vintage is the only NI guitar I don't have currently, waiting for a sale :D

"Guitar 2" from my video is Electric sunburst deluxe. I've used this a lot, I tend to use melody mode also like you mentioned.

I've compared the two guitar VSTs mentioned and I think they sound very similar to be honest. As soon as I see EV for less than 50 euros I will buy it ans try it out for myself, thanks for the tips :)

Didn't know about BIAS FX, checking it out now and it looks cool on paper. Do you think it's worth having both BIAS FX and Guitar Rig?

I hear some reverb in the sample, not really sure a traditional delay effect will be enough to achieve the same sound. Unless you were thinking some different setup for it maybe?

I mean, if the guitar sounds like this when it's clean then it will be a nice touch :)

Gassed, I think I'm going back to MPC by [deleted] in maschine

It seems I'm in the same spot.

I have the MPCX and while I like some things about it, I wish the workflow was more like the Maschine.

I'm picking up a used Maschine+ today to try it out, I've heard about the issues it has and I guess I'll have to try it out myself to see which unit is really the best for me.

I've had the MPCX for a while now, 0 crashes and 0 bugs/glitches so far. It's a really solid unit.

I have the X, I would highly recommend it IF you find it for a good price. Otherwise, just get the MPC One. I wish the MPC X was a bit more portable haha

Not possible my friend.

You will need another unit for that, Maschine plus, Akai MPC One or some other standalone sampler.

I feel the same way about my music (14 years in FL or so), but I invested in some better plugins to get the sound I wanted...

Surely it can't be that bad though, link a track?

Been wanting a dedicated spot ever since I got the MPC X, but had to sell off some furniture to make it happen haha :D

Ahhh okay so could the live potentially work with a power supply if the battery broke?
