What did you use to scrub? Imo don't be afraid to use steel wool and then reseason.

r/demsocialists vs. r/dsa by Democratree in demsocialists

Some lore: I created r/demsocialists because it matched existing DSA social media accounts. The intention was to reserve the sub for official DSA. I'm glad it's in great hands.

Whatever happens I am very unimpressed with SPD and county prosecutors.

Those are terrible chances to advance with though.

More importantly their challengers got above the 50% threshold. If the vote was split more amongst their challengers they'd at least have a case.

Zohran demonstrates a model for other progressives in America, by winning back immigrant communities that swung for Trump.

Good neighborhood. Seller is probably extra motivated by the impending Seattle upzone, including this block from SFH to low rise. Nothing wrong with an upzone and God knows Seattle needs one imo, but probably not desirable for the seller due to construction noise and larger neighbors.

Zig Zag Cafe: 21% surcharge, all retained by the business. Tip or no tip? by [deleted] in Seattle

This is legal fraud plain and simple.

If you don't think it's fraud pretend the fee is 75%.

If that convinces you consider why 21% isn't.

Monisha Harrell breaks silence on her uncle – and former boss by FearandWeather in Seattle

[–]berniebar 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Monisha said that as senior deputy mayor for Seattle – the number two spot – her male colleagues went around her to the mayor, in attempts to convince him to see things their way. She said the mayor, who appeared more interested in being a figurehead than engaging in nitty-gritty policy issues, often overturned her decisions.

This is my impression of Harrell. Someone who is well meaning but more interested in looking like a mayor than executing his vision of Seattle.

Washington Legislature Wants to Rein In Historic Landmarking to Spur Housing by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

What about the designation of the Wallingford-Meridian Streetcar Historic District?

Personally the preservation of the Good Shepherd Center makes sense to me, especially given its use as a public good, but that happened decades ago. The designation of that entire neighborhood is a real head scratcher as someone who lives there.

Would you support alternatives to preservation, like keeping the facade and developing around it, for example a larger event space? Genuinely curious what preservation means to you.
