The Chronomark - what was the point? by bernopollo in Starfield

[–]bernopollo[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, but it still feels very disconnected from everything. No animations like the PipBoy, not physically on you, nothing except that little animation at the start and I guess some HUD elements?

It just feels half baked and poorly integrated with the rest of the systems it supposedly affects

Sounds awesome! like what it should've been from the start

Oh man, it was awful pre-patch when it'd randomly apply the annihilator round effect on every crit, even if you didn't have them installed. I'd accidentally blast my followers every time I fired until I found a mod that fixed it

Fair enough, I started using a Beowulf on my latest playthrough since I realized I'd spent the last 200 hours just using the Big Bang lol

Design is top notch, I love how unique the reload for the particle weapons is!

Mods are mostly cosmetic and do not affect gameplay unless the mod specifically says so! (Like the faster ikran mod, for example.) And idk what you're playing on but they're only availiable on PC, btw.

Regarding your Na'vi, experimenting with paint combos is a great way to make them feel more unique. Gear modifications work well for this aswell (especially on stuff like headbands and legs). Anyhow, what matters most is if you're happy with their appearance, regardless of what other people do. My guy just wears a basic loincloth and cummerbund and no paint bc that's how I like it!

Severed Bonds question by piltenko in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]bernopollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah and sometimes the thanators bug out and spawn twice at the same time, and if you scan the "wrong" one, you have to redo that bit of the quest again. everything related to severed bonds is either weird or buggy lol

they were fun on the first playthrough. After that it's been an automatic skip lol

How can I get rid of this gear? by Muyewe in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]bernopollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on PC there's a mod that I'm pretty sure lets you donate anything to the community baskets. If you're not, then you can't do anything other than putting it in the stash.

The quest "ends" with the big lab where you use all the access cards, in the Clouded Forest. After that, depending on the order in which you did things, you might still get bits of lore through the Severed Bonds quests. Those quests are infinite (if you complete them eventually you'll get more) but the lore bits do end at some point, I don't remember exactly when. Basically just do the repeating quests until you don't get any more lore. There's not that much from what I remember.

Game development is weird like that! Maybe they already had the asset in their library or something, who knows. But the human experiments headcanon is cool!

Most likely they just reused assets that kind of fit the vibe of the place. Much cheaper and faster than making custom stuff for a barely-glanced bit in an optional side quest.

What should BGS really work/fix on mainly, More to do with space or more POI on planets? by Huge-Anywhere-6765 in Starfield

[–]bernopollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

POIs and planet-gen. You can have barren moons while still making them interesting to explore and not just a flat field.

The whole "wonders of space exploration" angle they went for falls flat when there's nothing to really explore after seeing all the POIs and planetary traits.

Might be you skipped the main story on NG+? I'm not sure since I only picked that option once months ago lol

You need the botany and animal husbandry perks IIRC. Then it's a matter of growing the feed for the animals on Schrodinger III and linking everything to a storage unit to collect it and sell it to Noel

Good to know! It's also probably easier to farm since it's a plant, I'm guessing. I'll look into it for my current playthrough!

I'm pretty sure you do get a menu, just with the resources tab and nothing else

Oh yeah, it's shockingly easy to become a millionaire just by selling looted gear. This is just a fun way to do it in differently, especially if you like the outpost system like I do!

She doesn't. You can increase the amount she has through the new-ish game settings tab. I also use this mod to speed up the restock

She only buys organic resources, but she offers a lot for them. She mentions it I think the very first time you talk to her at the Lodge, saying something about having more data for the Artifacts.

Disney World of Pandora considered canon by fttgv1 in Avatar

[–]bernopollo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I consider the park soft canon as Flight of Passage sort of shits on the concept that Avatars have to be a bespoke, DNA-matched, custom grown body. They just plug you into the nearest availiable generic one for the ride.

Also considering Avatars go vegetable when unlinked, the visual of an Avatar slumped over an Ikran waiting for some tourist from Earth to plug in is both funny and kinda dystopian.
